Haapsu Holiday Home is located in the green area of Haapsu. The accommodation has a seating area. Each room has a kitchenette with a fridge and kitchenware. Private bathrooms have a bath or shower. Naturally, we are bordered on the one hand by the Orissaare-Leisi road and on the other hand by the seashore with a juniper shore border that creates its own pleasant privacy. Since the place is on the way around Saaremaa for travelers, it made us think that we could create an opportunity for travelers to relax their feet and minds with us. Our goal is to offer, above all, a way of being in nature that is the complete opposite of urban life. The seashore is just such a distance that the noise of cars on the road is not heard there. So it's very nice to sunbathe privately, play ball or sit by the fire in the evening and enjoy the birdsong. We run the campsite with our whole family. Everyone contributes to the best of their ability, who mows the lawn, who delivers online posts, who answers letters and receives visitors. We have been doing this for 6 years now and we are happy to have such a wonderful place to share with you. The Maasi Order Castle, originally built in 1345 when it was given the name Soneburg (translated: Punishment Castle), is located 4 km from the Orissaare-Leisi highway. In 1559, the castle was transferred to the Danish state. In 1566, the Danes destroyed the castle so that it would not remain in the possession of the enemy. Soon the fortress was restored, but in 1568 and 1575 the fortress was conquered by the Swedes and on both occasions it became their foothold in Saaremaa. To prevent this from happening again, the castle was blown up in 1576 by order of King Frederik II of Denmark. Since then, the castle has been in ruins. As field studies have shown, Maasilinn is a so-called Extended living tower - type main building surrounded by an irregular rectangular circular wall, with the rest of the buildings located opposite the northwest, northeast and southeast sides. The restoration of the Maasilinna fortress, which began at the end of 2001, has now been completed. The Triigi Harbor is also located on the Orissaare-Leisi highway, which is of particular interest to those who wish to visit Hiiumaa, Estonia's second largest island, after visiting Saaremaa.
