You might also fancy taking a nostalgic trip on the Wensleydale Railway, which runs from Scruton (6 miles) to Leyburn, the main market town of mid-Wensleydale. Make your way up the private track towards the unique, black-clad barn – a striking silhouette against the sky. When you’ve parked (there’s space for up to six cars), head into the large entrance space, where there’s ample storage for coats and boots. Walk into the huge, open-plan living space – a stunning room with tiled floors, natural tones and textures, and wall-to-wall windows framing the beautiful view.
