Light and airy, the lounge is where you can unwind with a movie or plan your next day’s adventures. When it’s time to retire, choose from two cosy bedrooms – one with a double bed and patio doors onto the garden, the other with full-size twins, and both served by the spacious family bathroom. This detached property sits within an enclosed garden where there is a lawn and patio area with outdoor furniture plus pretty, seasonal planting – a perfect setting for sundowners and stargazing! Croyde Beach is a year-round favourite among the surfing crowd. Just to the south of it, Saunton Sands is better suited to beginners and is backed by the impressive Braunton Burrows, one of the largest sand dune systems in the British Isles and a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Just 9 miles north, Ilfracombe is home to the iconic Landmark Theatre, Tunnels Beaches and, overlooking the harbour, Damien Hirst’s statue of Verity' take a boat trip from here to Lundy Island and you might see dolphins and puffins. For time away from the beach, visit Barnstaple (10 miles), the largest town in North Devon with a historic Pannier Market and a host of independent stores.
