Please bring heat tech, tights, scarves, gloves, thick socks, warm jackets, etc. THE ARAMAKI is a Japanese house estimated to be 200-300 years old, nestled in the quiet mountains. Experience Japanese rural life with all five senses in an old-fashioned space with a hearth and a kamado. There is a river nearby, where you can play in the water in summer, and a shrine and a direct sales store are within walking distance. There is a Japanese garden on the premises, where you can enjoy the changing seasons. During your stay, enjoy relaxing around the fire, reading in nature, eating, etc. It is about 2 to 3 hours from Tokyo by train and car. While in a location accessible from Tokyo, you can enjoy a relaxing time away from everyday life. The host is always on the premises and has a support system in place to help you feel at ease during your stay. This place is recommended for those who want to deeply enjoy Japanese culture and beauty. The space It is a one-story wooden house of about 80 tsubo. ・ 2 rooms with a sunken hearth ・ 3 Japanese-style rooms (10 futons available) ・ With Japanese garden ・ 1 kitchen (fully equipped with cooking utensils/BBQ nets, tongs, etc., so you can come empty-handed. You can bring your own charcoal or buy it for 2,000 yen for 6 kg) ・ Green tea, coffee, salt, sugar, salad oil, and black pepper are provided - 1 toilet ・ 1 shower (shampoo, conditioner, body soap, towels available) ・ On-site parking (6-10 cars possible) - WiFi is available. You can experience nature with the four seasons and the good old Japanese lifestyle. * The Aramaki is located in a countryside rich in nature. Therefore, you can see various kinds of insects. Rarely, you may see a large spider called a "Ashidaka spider" in the house. You may be surprised by its appearance, but it is not poisonous and does not harm people. It's like a natural cleaner that eats the pests in the house. * There is no TV * Information about the number of guests The maximum number of guests that can stay at the facility is 10. * All guests, including infants and toddlers, will be counted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation for safety and facility reasons. Guest access ・ Everything except the main house staff room (bedroom, living room, kitchen, toilet, bathroom, garden) During your stay The host is on site and will assist you as needed. We are flexible with check-in information, local sightseeing advice, and support on how to use the irori and kamado. It is an environment where you can feel free to ask questions while respecting your private space. Other things to note This is an old abandoned house that we renovate with love and care, and there are still spots that are waiting to be fixed. Because the building is very old, there are insects invading and cold depending on the season. ・ In winter, you will be staying while using heating appliances such as stoves and hot water bottles. There is no air conditioning in the summer.However, except from 11:00 to 15:00, it is airy and you can stay cool.Mosquito nets are provided at night, so you can rest with peace of mind. If you are staying for more than 2 nights, it is recommended to go sightseeing during the hot weather during the day, play in the water in the nearby Satokawa River, and eat the popular local Satomi gelato. Please be careful when handling fires such as hearths, ovens, bonfires, etc. It is an owner-occupied operation. Please note that the host will also use one toilet and one bathroom. About activities and experiences: 1. Enjoy the view!Nabesuyama Trekking Course • Overview: Nabusoyama, located in the northern part of Hitachiota City, is attractive with natural trekking routes. • Highlights: Satoyama scenery from the summit, seasonal flowers, and wild birds singing. • Course Difficulty: Beginner to intermediate.However, there was a steep climb. • Travel time: 2-4 hours depending on the route.The entrance is 5 minutes walk from the house.The view is especially good when it's sunny. 2. Soba Making Experience at Satomi Fureaikan • Overview: Hitachiota City, famous as a soba restaurant.You can experience handmade soba noodles at Satomi Fureaikan. • Experience time: about 60 minutes. • Price: 1,100yen per person from 4 people • Enjoy: The taste of your own soba is exceptional. • Getting around: 5 minutes on foot. 4. Fukuroda Falls • Overview: Stunning Otaki, one of the three waterfalls in Japan.Expressions change depending on the season and time of day. • Duration: Approximately 25 minutes drive from the Aramaki. • Highlights: Fall foliage season and winter ice falls are a must.You can also enjoy waterfall tunnels and lighting. 5. Oniwajinja Shrine • Overview: Ancient Shrine, known as one of the leading power spots in Ibaraki Prefecture, and the entire mountain is considered a shrine. • Features: Dotted with cedar groves and multiple shrines, it is surrounded by sacred air. • Duration: About a 22-minute drive from the Aramaki. 6.
