The space If you've ever thought "stop the world, I want to get off..." then visiting Jackman will soothe your soul, especially if you enjoy the outdoors. It's a quiet peaceful town with magnificent vistas of mountains and lakes all around. Often referred to as the “Switzerland of Maine”, Jackman boasts some of the best snowmobile and ATV trails in the state. Other winter sports include cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice fishing, and good old- fashioned snowball fights. In the warmer months activities include ATV riding, boating, fishing, hiking, swimming, whitewater rafting, wildlife watching, golf, and day excursions into Canada (Quebec City is less than 2 hours away by car) or eastward to Rockwood and the resort town of Greenville on Moosehead Lake.
