A luxury Nordic lodge in the tranquil Lake View area of the award winning Mercia Marina. The South West facing French windows which access the patio look out on to a small lake, and the lodges location, away from the main thoroughfare, give it a peaceful and tranquil feel. It also has 2 private parking spaces. A perfect all year round holiday choice for all ages, including those in search of relaxation, good food and drink, flora, fauna and canal boats. The space Honeysuckle Lodge is a Pinelog Nordic lodge, installed and fitted out in 2021 and has been well maintained . This centrally heated 2 bedroomed lodge, with parking space for 2 cars is furnished and equipped to a high standard. The decor is stylish, contemporary and comfortable. The Lodge is yours exclusively for the duration of your stay. It has Fibre Broadband and is within the Mercia Marina gated community. The accommodation comprises: An open plan living area which includes a lounge, dining area, and well equipped kitchen with breakfast bar. 1 master bedroom with King Size bed and ensuite bathroom, with a walk in shower, toilet and sink. 1 twin bedroom, with Jack and Jill bathroom, comprising of bath, with overhead shower, toilet and sink, which can also be accessed from the corridor during the daytime, if you have visitors. The small bedroom is a private office for our use, and will be locked. Raised deck/ patio with lake view and garden furniture Facilities The lounge has a 40 inch HD TV, an ambient electric fire and matching 2 seater sofa and 2 armchairs. The dining area has an extendable dining table and chairs. The fitted kitchen is fully equipped with hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge-freezer, microwave, Nespresso coffee maker, sink and a worktop island which doubles as a breakfast bar. Both the master bedroom and twin bedroom have wall mounted Tv’s. A washer-dryer is located in the utility cupboard in the entrance hallway. The patio has tables, a sun umbrella, chairs and recliners. Guest access The entire lodge, with the exception of the office , and cleaning cupboard, is for your exclusive use. There are 3 small steps with a handrail up to the entrance. The lodge is all on one level. Other things to note Free on site cycle loan. Reconditioned cycles located in bike sheds around the park can be used by visitors. Just return them to the same bike shed when you leave. Mercia Marina does have a wheelchair that can be borrowed, but it is not bookable in advance. Brick barbecues around the park area are available for use by all. Because of the fire hazard with wooden buildings, barbecues are not allowed on the lodge decking. Private woodland walks and children’s play area, fitness equipment , table tennis table and a badminton net are a few minutes walk away. Recycling and refuse stations are located within the park, and indicated on the map you will be provided with. A few minutes walk takes you to the public area of Mercia Marina, where you will find the Boardwalk shops, cafes, visitor parking and unrivalled views over the marina. From there you can follow a nature trail or any one of 3 walk loops, which incorporate the canal towpath. Willington, with 3 pubs a Co-op, Indian restaurant and a Fish and Chip shop is a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk down the towpath. Nearby attractions: Derby- Museum and Art Gallery, The Museum of Making, Cathedral, Derby Market Hall, Derbion Shopping Centre - 20 mins by car Calke Abbey- 22 mins by car Kedleston Hall - 19 mins by car Sudbury Hall - 18 mins by car Melbourne (Georgian Market Town with a hall and lake)- 16 mins by car Alton Towers - 20 mins by car Castle Donnington Race Track- 20 mins by car National Arboretum - 25 mins by car Mercia Marina is a 30 minute drive to the Southern edge of the Peak District, where you will also find further popular visitor attractions: Ashbourne - 30 mins by car Matlock, Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham Cable Car- 45 mins by car Hardwick Hall - 45 mins by car Bakewell - 55 mins by car Chatsworth House and Estate - 1 hr by car
