Description
Welcome to River Ridge—a secluded recess designed to offer you peace, relaxation, and rejuvenation. Unwind on our tranquil 8-acre wooded retreat, featuring 400 feet of serene Muskegon River frontage, just 2 miles from charming downtown Newaygo. Once a beloved bed & breakfast known as "River Valley House," we humbly continue its tradition of providing a restful escape from daily life. Perfect for anglers, adventurers, or anyone seeking a pause in nature's quiet embrace. The space Our spacious family-sized guesthouse, perched on a scenic riverbank, ensures total independence with its own entrance, kitchen, cozy living room, deck, full bathroom, laundry, and HVAC system. The entryway to the guesthouse is occasionally used by hosts to access the garage beneath the guesthouse. Enjoy serene river views from the riverside gazebo, or descend stairs to swim, paddle, or fish in the mighty Muskegon River. Evening magic awaits around the large backyard fire pit (firewood provided), perfect for making memories. Outdoor games—including corn hole, ladder ball, bocce ball, and horseshoes—are available upon request. Gather for meals at your outdoor dining table for four or the indoor dining table accommodating six, while your BBQ master delights on the Grill King. Inside, rooms are thoughtfully designed for comfort and relaxation. Amenities include a convenient workstation, plush sofa and loveseat, and a spacious coffee table ideal for board games, cards, and cozy indoor activities. Guest access You have full, private access to the guesthouse, located above the garage adjacent to the driveway, complete with your private patio equipped with a BBQ grill, table, and chairs. Enjoy your own backyard fire ring (separate from the deck firepit). SHARED amenities (not private or exclusive to guests) include a riverside gazebo with seating, rocking chairs overlooking the river, and the delightful private beach area with nature trees to tie up a boat. Please note that garage access, main house porch, and hot tub are off-limits, as are other main deck features. Other things to note Leave your flashlights at home—our whole-house generator ensures uninterrupted comfort, even during power outages. Guests with boats are welcome to tie them to one of the mature trees along the riverbank. Our desire is to offer guests a true recess from daily life—a hidden, secluded place designed for rest, relaxation, and reconnection with nature. We hope your stay provides a refreshing pause from routine, inviting you to embrace the simplicity and beauty of your surroundings.
