Woodpecker Cottage

A charming cottage retaining original features which has panoramic views from all windows. In the pretty village of Dale Abbey with Abbey ruins, unique semi-detached church and Hermits Cave. As well as full central heating, the lounge has a wood burning stove; keeping things cosy. The summerhouse encourages you to enjoy the outside space. In a beautiful conservation area yet only 10 minutes away from major routes - perfect for exploring. Ample off road parking. Dogs welcome. Children welcome. The space After parking through the double gates, access to the cottage is via the green stable door. The bathroom is off the entrance hall, and there is a small utility room housing the washing machine and microwave. The kitchen is off the hallway with a dishwasher , hob and oven, fridge/freezer, air fryer, toaster, etc. This leads onto the dining room, through to the stairs and lounge, with a wood burning stove. The larger settee folds down to make a double bed should you need it for overnight guests. Upstairs are 2 bedrooms. One has a king size bed, the other has twin beds. Outside is a summerhouse, outdoor bench-table for alfresco dining, and a lawn. There is a side gate that leads to our meadow which you are free to use if you wish. Guest access As guests, you have full use of the house, garden and our meadow. Maybe enjoy a picnic there amongst the newly planted orchard. At sunset and sunrise you may be lucky to see the resident barn owls. Other things to note A quick walk through the bluebell wood leads to a pub in the village. An excellent tea room The Cowshed is in easy walking distance. There are quite a few other options very close by, which will be listed in the welcome booklet. Excellent shopping can be found in nearby Nottingham and Derby, along with everything that city life offers. There are many attractions nearby to cater for all tastes. If you’re looking for a place to stay away from it all but with easy access to whatever takes your fancy, then Woodpecker Cottage could be exactly what you’re looking for.
