Climb aboard the Swanage Railway steam train from Corfe Castle and enjoy a stroll down the seaside resort’s delightful Victorian pier or a boat trip along the coast. Durlston Country Park (6 miles) is a wonderful clifftop nature reserve with a visitor centre, while Worth Matravers (4 miles) is a picturesque setting of limestone cottages clustered around a village green and duck pond. Ceiling beams, wooden latch doors and a brick chimney breast testify to the character of the living room as you enter this delightful cottage.
