They use the dock, boats, grill games, hammock, fire pit etc. If the idea of camping is unpleasant, you probably will not want to stay here. Consider booking one bed at the Hampton Inn for base price of $179.00/night. We have dogs that stay in the home when we visit. We clean up after them inside and out. If you have dog allergies, you may want to book elsewhere. This older lake house (1970) is all about the views! Perfect for the nature enthusiast. Very private! Simple, quirky, cute and fun! This is not a fancy place. Since it is near a lake, there are naturally more bugs and critters. We keep the property clean and take preventative measures, but can't guarantee that you won't encounter any critters. It comes with the territory. You may see or hear deer, coyotes, geese, beavers, turkeys, turtles, heron, eagles, etc. If you are uncomfortable with being near wildlife, please do not book this property. Take caution when using the steps to the dock. You can enter both levels of the cottage with a few steps from outside without using the interior spiral staircase. Other things to note This property is not recommended for small children or people with mobility issues due to proximity to water, stairs and uneven surfaces. Use of boats is at your own risk. Owenton is essentially dry. Alcohol is served at 3 restaurants that we know of. Alcohol purchases can be made in neighboring counties.
