Your getaway is a charming, cosy 150-year old quarryman's character cottage in the bustling market town of Bakewell, nestled in the stunning Peak District. Lovingly renovated throughout to the highest standards, two spacious first floor double bedrooms with beautiful views are all yours. Velvet sofas around a log burner, stylish kitchen and generous bathroom with bath & electric shower. Games, maps, books & wonderful walks to Chatsworth and Haddon Hall from your door in a peaceful green haven. The space Two bedrooms on the first floor. a beautiful master bedroom with decorative fireplace, candles, toiletries, chargers and other bits you may need in the bedside drawers. Hanging rail and drawers for clothes and luggage. The bed has luxurious linen sheets over hypoallergenic Chatsworth sheep wool pillows, matress and duvet which guests say promote a wonderful restful sleep. If you are two guests who wish to have the second bedroom set up separately, please let me know in advance. There is a small fee of £15 pp to cover additional housekeeping and laundry costs. Adjacent is bedroom two or second sitting room/study with a brand new sofabed with cosy cotton sheets and all new hypoallergenic bedding. Bookshelves to browse at your leisure. Ideal for another couple, a friend who prefers their own space or older children. Also room for a travel cot if you wish to bring your baby. Should you wish to work or write in the conducive atmosphere, enjoy the electric standing desk with inspiring views over Manners Wood to Chatsworth Ridge. Below, a lovely white Victorian style bathroom with bath and electric shower over (pull the cord!). The ground floor kitchen has everything you need and more. Hope Cottage's owner Faye is a hobby chef who has all the equipment for making tasty dine-in meals, plus a bulging pantry and fridge full of everything you may need a pinch or splash of during your stay. *Please just replace anything you finish.* The lounge has two sofas and Faye's granny's beloved easy chair, a footstool full of games, comforting log burner for the cold months and TV with Prime should you fancy a binge watch! There are also more OS maps and walking books of the area by the kindling basket. Guest access Guests have full access to the whole house and garden. Borrow any items you need from water bottles to map cases, picnic rugs to garden chairs and barbeque. Only the attic room is locked. Other things to note Hope Cottage is not a sterile staged holiday home or investment property. My delightful guests from across the world tell me they choose to visit because it is my wonderfully cosy joy and peace-filled homely haven, with all the bits and quirks a real Victorian home entails. I trust you will love your stay as much as I love living here. 🥰
