Take it easy at this unique, tranquil getaway. Walk 20 min (3 min drive) to the charming, historic town of Toodyay. The home suits anyone who needs to 'switch off', write that book they've always been meaning to write, or just enjoy nature. The town includes a great bakery, two wonderful hotels for dining, museums and quirky cafes. In addition, there are drives to natural reserves, Roam Distillery featuring organic spirits, the historic Coorinja winery with fortified wines, and stargazing. The space This is a small town edge / semi-rural property that backs onto the Avon River bushland with multiple hilly scenic vistas. The delightful modern home is architect-designed to engage with nature and is full of quirky surprises. The property has also recently been renovated and updated. It is solar powered with batteries, and recycles grey water for the mini-orchard. Your bedroom, adjacent private bathroom, shared living / dining / kitchen areas and timber decks are all on the ground level. There is also a large upper level terrace area available to relax in, with spectacular views of the hills. Guest access The whole property and home is accessible to guests (except the host’s bedroom and en-suite). The bedroom is situated just inside the main entrance off the front verandah, for easy access. Early check-in / late check-out can also be accommodated, just ask! (Especially if you are taking the train from Perth or Kalgoorlie/beyond). You can travel by train on: - the Merredin Link (from East Perth Terminal towards Kalgoorlie) - the Prospector (from East Perth Terminal towards Kalgoorlie) - the Avon Link (from Midland station towards Northam) Train journey planner and tickets can be found on the TransWA website: transwa .wa. gov. au Note: Remove the spaces in above link and select ‘journey planner’. During your stay Rob will be there to greet and will generally be on the premises and always available during your stay (or available by mobile if away). He can provide you with recommendations in the area and heaps of tourist information. Other things to note The house is designed for great natural daylighting and ventilation, with a variety of indoor/outdoor spaces that can be explored over 2-levels. There are ceiling fans in all the living areas and bedrooms, and split air-con in the living room/dining room. There is also a traditional Metters stove in the kitchen that can heat the living areas with wood. Lastly, there is a laundry that is connected to your bathroom.
