Description
A lovely stone cottage in the middle of historic Langport on the Somerset Levels. Immediate access to riverside walks and open countryside, yet just two minutes from shops selling local produce, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Double bedroom, luxury bathroom, open plan kitchen/living room. Close to Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar and Taunton. Perfect location for walking, cycling, bird-watching, fishing and canoeing. Dorset, Devon and Somerset coastlines all within easy reach. The space Wren Cottage is part of a 200 year old stone barn on the East side of Langport close to the River Parrett. Beautifully renovated in a contemporary style, it is spacious, comfortable, cosy and perfectly located just off the high street of this small historic town. Being so central in the village affords you the chance to leave the car & walk the numerous walks available to you, along with a short work to enjoy the pubs & restaurants. The kitchen is fully equipped should you wish to prepare meals. The double bedroom has lots of drawers and hanging space for your clothes. The double bed is beautifully comfortable to ensure a restful nights sleep. All bedlinen and towels are included. The bathroom has a bath with overhead shower, WC, basin, heated towel rail. The lounge has plenty of seating, TV with Sky & Netflix, WiFi, a selection of games and books, as well as some information about the immediate area. The Cottage has a lovely secluded courtyard which is a sun trap & ideal for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. Private parking for one car and a gate leading directly to the River Parrett and Somerset Levels. Ideal for walking and exploring the local areas. Langport is blessed with some beautiful riverside cafes ideal for watching the variety of activities taking place on the water including paddle boarding & kayaking. Guest access Within an easy drive to the nearby county town of Taunton which is approximately 30 mins by car. There are lovely beaches at Weston-Super-Mare & Burnham. There are many National Trust properties and RSPB reserves in the area. The murmuration's are regularly observed at Ham Wall which is on the outskirts of Glastonbury some 30 mins by car. Other attractions include Longleat, The Fleet Air Arm Museum and Cheddar Gorge, to name a few. The cities of Wells and Bath and the towns of Glastonbury and Street all provide interesting days out, with the Quantock Hills and Exmoor providing opportunities to view wildlife and enjoy beautiful scenery. Other things to note We are the new owners of this property & we fell in love with the Cottage & Langport when we stayed here when it was previously an Airbnb. We've done some renovations which will hopefully enhance your stay & we hope you enjoy the Cottage & the local area as much as we do. This is a no smoking or vaping property. Small well behaved pets are allowed but we kindly request that dogs are not allowed on the furniture. We do not supply pet bedding or bowls but please feel free to bring your own. We do not allow any additional overnight guests but there are rooms available in the local pubs.
