Skerrycape - Lakefront Cottage & Sauna

Welcome to your private retreat, a well-equipped, inviting cottage surrounded by forest and just few steps away from a quiet lake. This is the ideal place to relax, recharge, and enjoy the simple pleasures of nature. Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a creative break, remote working, or time with family and friends, this property offers an authentic Finnish mökki experience, complete with a traditional wood-heated sauna and private pier. The space 🏡 The Cottage This 60 m² (approx. 646 ft²) main cabin is designed for comfort while retaining its classic rustic charm: - Living Area: Fireplace, electric heating, TV, speakers, and a dining table. - Sleeping Spaces: The main bedroom features a 180 cm wide bed. Upstairs, there is a 160 cm mattress, and the sofa in the main cottage can be converted into a 140 cm bed. The guesthouse also has a 140 cm bed. Please feel free to let us know your preferred sleeping arrangements so we can prepare the beds accordingly. Alternatively, you're welcome to choose your sleeping spots upon arrival and make the beds yourself using the sheets we’ll provide. - Kitchen: Fully equipped with stove, fridge/freezer, hot and cold water, dishes, and cooking essentials. - Bathroom: Indoor hot-water shower and sink; traditional composting outhouse toilet located outside. - Veranda: Covered outdoor space with direct lake views, perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. Please note: Tap water is suitable for boiling and making coffee, but we recommend bringing your own drinking water for convenience. Alternatively: We’re happy to deliver fresh spring water in advance, that is ready and waiting for you in the cottage (€5 per 5L). This allows you to settle in and relax right away without the need to bring your own. 🔥 The Lakeside Sauna Experience an authentic Finnish tradition in your private sauna cabin by the lake: - Traditional wood-burning sauna with a changing area. - Veranda with tranquil lake views, ideal for relaxing after the sauna. - Private pier leading to the lake, ideal for swimming after the sauna. - Water for the sauna is carried either from the lake or from a faucet outside the main building. Please note: If you wish to use the sauna, grill hut, or fireplace, kindly bring your own firewood and kindling. Alternatively: We can also bring 40L bags of firewood before your arrival, each enough for 1 to 2 sauna sessions, depending on how hot you like it. Having the wood ready at the cottage saves you the effort of sourcing or carrying it yourself. The price is €15 per bag. 🌲 Property Details The 985 m² (approx. 10,600 ft²) plot is quiet and immersed in wild nature. While there are a few neighboring cottages, the setting is private and secluded, with limited visibility. Additional features include: - Guesthouse Outbuilding: Sleeps 2–3, with electric heating. - Grill Hut: Covered fire pit with lighting — perfect for outdoor grilling and cozy gatherings. - Composting Toilet: Traditional and eco-friendly. - Free Parking: Space for two vehicles. If we need to complete the final cleaning on your behalf, an additional charge of €80 plus any associated cleaning costs will apply.
