Enjoy thick stone walls and cool temperatures in this ground level studio apartment, naturally protected from the hot sunlight with its north-east windows. Just 70 minutes from Paris by train or car, your oasis awaits! Soak in views of the chateau and park, designed by Andre le Notre - or feed our peacocks. For shopping by foot, our medieval village awaits! The space Your studio apartment sits directly on a moat, tucked away in the south annex of the property, just a few meters away from the chateau. You can see the property's most beautiful features directly from your windows - the chateau itself, the Avre river, moats, classified plaintain trees, and the historic chapel and clock tower. Your apartment has radiant floor heating, marble tile shower, and luxurious Frette towels and robes to keep you warm and cozy. You will sleep like royalty, with Egyptian cotton Frette linens and two sumptuous single mattresses that can be pulled apart for friends, or placed together for couples to create a European king. For those hoping to explore the open markets and the pastry, butcher, cheese, and speciality stores, we have fully equipped kitchenette replete with antique serviceware and cutlery as well as delicate Lehmann stemware. History, design, and culture are of the essence. We designed the space in partnership with seasoned architectural designers and carefully selected pieces of art and furniture that were found in the chateau after years of vacancy. The chateau is nestled in a medieval village with winding, narrow cobbestoned streets and timber-framed houses and shops. Everything is within walking distance, including a large grocery store just a 5 minute walk from the chateau where you can pick up anything you can imagine. For sports-lovers, we have a horse-back riding farm nearby as well as public tennis courts, walking trails, and garden games. Depending on the season, we have cherries, plums, figs, persimmons, apples, and pears in our orchard. Guest access You will have your own entrance to your studio with direct, independent access to the parking area and and entrance. Enjoy full access to our courtyard and tree-lined river acess. Depending on the season, enjoy picnics, pétanque, fishing, and apéros outside. We offer two bicycles, as well as tennis racquets and balls for use at the nearby public courts. Picnic blankets and an outdoor picnic table are also available for your enjoyment! Other things to note Chateau des Joncherets is very easy to access from Paris or by car. It is a direct, 70 minute train ride from down town Paris (Montparnasse to Nonancourt), and then a 12-minute walk to the chateau.
