The Wish House Retreat

The Wish House Retreat, is situated 6 kms inland from State Highway 3, in the beautiful region of Taranaki. Enjoy the scenic drive on a quiet country sealed road, surrounded by sheep and beef farmland. The Wish House is a self guided retreat, using nature to help people heal, to activate their spirituality, growth and connection to the earth. The cabin is located on the hosts’ small farm, offering privacy and opportunities for peaceful mediation, creating space away from a busy world. The space Nestled in a quiet corner, this quirky and retro Cabin offers a cosy and comfortable space, fitted out with recycled furniture and homemade touches. An ideal space for 1-2 guests, with a comfy queen bed, small kitchenette, and separate bathroom with the shower & toilet facilities. Relax and unwind in the private & peaceful courtyard, with a fire pit and an outdoor bath, you are sure to recharge those batteries. The Wish House Retreat offers self catering - just bring your own food and drink and cook meals using the webber BBQ with a gas cooker. The kitchenette is equipped with a microwave, fridge/freezer and all the crockery, cutlery, pots and pans you will need. If you prefer to dine out, the small coastal town of Urenui is a quick 10 minute drive from the cabin and offers 2 cafes, a pub for evening meals or grab takeways or a picnic to eat at the many local beaches. Or further afield, take a scenic 30 minute drive to the beautiful city of New Plymouth, for all your amenities. The Wish House Retreat and surrounding land, has healing energy and a purpose behind your stay. A perfect space to slow down, reflect, disconnect, reconnect or just sit in stillness. Enjoy the small gentle walk through the farm, which will lead you to a second fire pit surrounded only by nature. Continue across the creek and follow the path to the ‘Healing Tree’. Take a seat, enjoy the view, disconnect from the busy world and let nature heal. as part of your stay you may like to book a bowen/ reiki healing session with shelley, 2 people can be treated in the same session, or 1 at a time, whatever suits, all treatments are with you fully clothed, they are done either down at the main house in my treatment room, or can be done under the healing tree ( for the ultimate experience) where there is plenty of room for 2 massage tables. ( weather permitting) Guest access On entry to The Wish House, you will be using a shared driveway with the owner. Tucked away beside the farm shed, the cabin offers it's own space for guest parking. The check in details will be sent to you prior to your arrival, for access to the key box. Other things to note Due to the working farm, all guests will be required to sign a hazards waiver form. Please contact the host if you have any questions regarding this. Dogs (2) are welcome, however please note the cabin is not fully fenced. All dogs must be under control at all times and on a lead when walking through the farm. Please keep dogs off the bedding and furniture and pick up all dog poop around the cabin on your departure.
