La Mareuille - Large house surrounded by nature

La Mareuille is a country house in Morbihan, an old Breton eco-renovated farm, surrounded by a vegetable garden, forest and groves. A stone's throw from La Roche-Bernard, it is ideal for exploring the Vilaine, the countryside, the forest and the beaches of Morbihan. We welcome little, but well: bouquet from the garden, little note, vegetables from the vegetable garden. No neighbors, just nature, calm and wood fire. Put your bags down, everything is planned. Weekends, holidays, pro teams and shoots welcome. The space ___ A house alone, really La Mareuille is an old Breton farmhouse from the 18th century, set on a slight elevation, at the end of a path lined with young oaks. We leave the communal road, we pass the forest, and the house appears. Around, nothing but nature. No neighbors. Here, luxury is silence, the dark night full of stars, the crackling fire, the boots drying near the stove and the woodpecker that gives the tempo of the morning (and with a bit of luck, a deer that crosses the garden). ___ A house that lives through the seasons La Mareuille changes with the seasons. In winter, we spend a lot of time around the stove, playing, reading. In spring, the light enters widely through the large south-facing bay window, the birds return, the vegetable garden is reborn. In summer, we live outside: meals under the trees, naps in the hammock, huts, tomatoes and berries picked on site, long evenings under the stars. In autumn, the mists arrive, the boots come out, we go mushroom picking and we go back to warm up by the fire. ___ The house The house is 175 m² and accommodates up to 12 people, without feeling cramped. . Large living room of 65 m², open to nature, with wood-burning stove . Very well-equipped kitchen for large tables . Living and dining room for 12 people . Ground floor bedroom (160 × 200 bed) with private bathroom, wheelchair accessible . Three bedrooms upstairs with 160 × 200 beds . Upstairs dormitory with a 160 × 200 bed and two single beds . Two bathrooms upstairs (bath and shower) . Two separate toilets . Washing machine . Terrace, outdoor furniture & BBQ . Parking for 5 spaces . Nearby walking trails, forest Lime, hemp and earth plaster immediately give the impression of a cocoon. The wood warms the whole place. The furniture and objects are largely antique. ___ You're good to go All you have to do is put your bags down. Families are welcome. We know that we often arrive loaded, sometimes tired. We simplify check-in and check-out. Upon arrival, the beds are made, the fire is lit (depending on the season). The earth walls naturally regulate the heat, the water is heated by solar energy, the large south-facing bay captures the sun and the stove takes over in the evening. The furniture is largely second-hand. The garden is intentionally wild, the vegetable garden is permaculture. ___ The exteriors The house opens onto a sunny terrace and a 3,000 m² plot. Around: the vegetable garden, the orchard, the other farm buildings… and Geo, our cat. In the summer, you can help yourself to berries, vegetables and aromatic herbs. ___ Shoots & filming We welcome photo shoots and filming. The place is particularly suitable for rustic worlds, images of family homes, nature and simple gestures. Old isolated farm, natural light, large volumes, raw materials. The other buildings and rest of the garden are strictly private. You'll be alone there. Other things to note . Our desire? To create a place that combines accommodation, small agricultural activity, table d'hôte and reception area of 55 m². . Since April 2025, the large house for 12 people is ready to host. The vegetable garden offers its first vegetables, while the orchard gently takes root. The table d'hôte, prepared from our harvests, is in progress. The barn will be transformed by 2027 into a space dedicated to reception and creation. . Vacations, weekends with friends or family, shooting, accommodation and/or catering for professional events, retreats (yoga, fasting, etc.) or artistic residences (theater, dance groups). Everything is possible. . Other buildings on the property are being renovated outside of rental periods to preserve the tranquility of the place. . The roof of a building is covered to preserve its structure. . The garden is not (yet) completely enclosed. . We have no TV or microwave. . Pets not allowed. . The house must be returned in an acceptable state of cleanliness. An additional cleaning fee is applied in case of exceptional cleaning. . No parties.
