The space Welcome to Prédio do Castelo, a private villa nestled in the peaceful area of Caloura, surrounded by nature and breathtaking views. Originally built over 30 years ago from a small stone house, the property has been thoughtfully renovated to preserve its Azorean charm while offering modern comforts. The house retains unique elements such as traditional terracotta floors, rare Portuguese tiles, and local antiques, creating an authentic and cozy atmosphere. The villa is fully equipped for a seamless stay, featuring large beds with memory foam mattresses, a bathroom with both a bathtub and shower, spacious wardrobes, a comfortable living area, and a kitchen fully stocked with all necessary appliances. The property is set on a vast plot of land that extends to a cliffside with panoramic sea views, offering the perfect setting for those seeking tranquility, nature, and privacy in the Azores. Private Outdoor Oasis Guests enjoy exclusive use of a private outdoor space, ideal for relaxing and soaking in Caloura’s natural beauty. Important Information Accessibility: For safety reasons (due to steps throughout the property), the accommodation is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, wheelchair users, or children under 4–5 years old. The entrance to the house is private. The house is not geminated so you will have all the tranquility you are looking for. You will have free parking at the door of the house. Caloura is pollution-free, offering a truly stunning environment. Whether you are interested in historic sites, cultural experiences or outdoor activities, Caloura has something for everyone. You can also find one of the best fish restaurants on the Island in Porto da Caloura and a bar with a wine cellar where you can enjoy good wines and cheese boards to the sound of instrumental music. Local attractions and activities: Caloura Cultural Center and Caloura Convent (Bateria de Nossa Senhora da Conceição). Swim in the clear waters of Porto da Caloura, in the natural pools of Cerco and Praia da Baixa d´Areia. Explore the underwater caves of Arcos da Caloura and enjoy various activities such as kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, diving, fishing, swimming with dolphins and many others related to the sea and nature. Just at 0,3 miles from our accommodation is Porto da Caloura, which has a Tourism Center where you can book and obtain information about all these and other activities. In the parish of Água de Pau, located about 1,2 miles from Caloura, you will find minimarkets, restaurants, bars, a gas station with an ATM, a pharmacy, among others. As Caloura is a protected and ecological area we ask that you turn off all the lights before leaving the house and close the taps tightly. Please note that this accommodation is surrounded by nature, and it is very important for us that there is no waste of energy and water. Whenever possible, try to separate waste. ATTENTION: Since January 1, 2025, the Azores began to apply Tourist Tax. In the municipality of Lagoa, the Tourist Tax is €2 per person per night for the first 3 nights of stay.
