Elegant Family Home near Downtown Grass Valley

This beautiful, well located property is a short walking distance to shops, restaurants and all the charm that downtown Grass Valley has to offer. The historic, fully-equipped, Italianate Victorian was built in 1883 and features high ceilings, hardwood floors, antique furnishings, a large, well-stocked kitchen, and ample off-street parking. There is also a large back patio with outdoor eating area, new gas BBQ and an expansive lawn. Note: While we welcome kids, this is home is NOT child proofed The space The home offers a total of 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The two-story Main House has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (3 bedrooms and 1 full bathroom upstairs + 1 bedroom and 1 bathroom downstairs) There is also a detached Guest Room with its own ensuite bathroom. (Please note: The detached Guest Room will only be included for groups of 6 or more.) The home also has a large cooks’ kitchen with central island, stainless steel appliances: Sub-Zero refrigerator, Thermador gas cooktop and new Kitchen Aid dishwasher. The large dining room table can seat up to 10 comfortably. There is high-speed WIFI and a large, flat screen, Smart HDTV in the sunroom with Xfinity Cable TV, Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, etc... There is also a large driveway in back with basketball hoop and room for parking multiple cars. For those booking in the Summer months, please note: While the temperatures in Grass Valley are generally temperate, in recent years, we have experienced numerous summer heat waves. As a result, we installed new, ductless mini-splits (Air Conditioning units) in the 3 upstairs bedrooms. There is NO Air Conditioning downstairs nor in the detached Guest Room, For those areas, we provide Dyson Cool Fans that can be moved around easily. There are also ceiling fans in the Guest Room and the TV room. Lastly, this is a pet free home and is not baby proofed! Guest access Access depends on the number of guests listed in the reservation... Groups of 5 or less will NOT have access to the Detached Guest Suite--but groups of 6 or more will. If, as a smaller group, you would like to include the Detached Guest Suite in your listing, please bump the number of Guests in your reservation to 6--that way Airbnb will do the math and associated fees will be applied. Thank you! Other things to note The base rent covers the first 5 guests listed in the reservation. There is an additional charge per guest / per night of $50 for each additional guest (guests 6, 7 and 8) . This charge will be calculated automatically upon booking. The added fee is to cover the additional cleaning, utilities and wear and tear. Also, for insurance purposes, it is imperative that each guest be accounted for in the reservation. Please note: This is a pet-free and smoke-free property. This home has been in the family for generations and is full of precious antiques and meaningful art and artifacts. If you or your group can not treat the home and its contents with care, we kindly ask that you find another place to stay.
