Private Riverfront Retreat -Hot Tub- Wood Fire

Nestled along the banks of historic French Creek, Pollywog Point cabin is the perfect escape for relaxation and privacy. *Outdoor Campfire – Warm up & toast marshmallows over a crackling fire after a day of exploring. *Private Hot Tub – Soak under the stars and unwind in the soothing bubbles. *Comfortable Accommodations – Sleep soundly in a rustic yet modern setting. 2 Bedrooms + Basement Sleeper Sofa. *Nature at Your Doorstep – Enjoy paddling, fishing, & wildlife just outside the door. The space Pollywog Point is tucked at the end of a private drive among mostly seasonal fishing cottages dating back to the 1960s and ’70s. As the last residence on the drive, the cabin enjoys extra privacy, with a wooden fence separating the property from the neighboring cottage. It’s a peaceful spot to relax, unwind, and enjoy the riverfront tranquility. First floor Inside, the open-concept living area features large windows that flood the space with natural light and offer pristine views of the river. Curl up on the leather sofas and watch the river flow by, or enjoy a game night game, perfect for those chilly evenings. The fully stocked kitchen boasts modern appliances, cooking & bakeware, and spices— everything you need to prepare and serve delicious meals. A half bathroom with towels specifically for hot tub use is located just off the kitchen. Second Floor A full bathroom is located at the top of the stairs. The master bedroom features a king-size bed with a private deck and outdoor, propane fireplace (Upper deck open May-Oct). A second bedroom down the hall features a queen bed, ideal for a second couple or children. Basement Cozy up for the big game or a movie and game night! Featuring a 65” Roku TV and surround sound, this is a great space to unwind and engage in some friendly competition! Play pool or ping pong on the convertible game table or kick back in front of the wood burning stove (wood stove in use late Sept-April). For additional sleeping space, the couch converts to a queen-size sleeper sofa. A washer and dryer are available for your use in the laundry closet. Outdoors Step outside and let nature be your playground. Cast a line from the gravel island, or launch our complimentary kayaks/canoes (late May - mid-Sept only) for a peaceful paddle down the river. *A signed liability waiver is required for the use of any watersports equipment.* Enjoy a peaceful bird-watching stroll through the woods, where you can slow down, listen to the sounds of nature, and keep an eye out for local wildlife. Birders frequently spot waterfowl, songbirds, herons, kingfishers, woodpeckers, and raptors such as ospreys and bald eagles. As the day winds down, gather around the fire pit for s'mores and stargazing. In the winter you can strap on snowshoes and explore over 15 acres of riverfront woodlands owned by the French Creek Consercancy. For a greater adrenaline rush, Mount Pleasant Ski & Tubing Resort is just 10 minutes away. We love to host families traveling from out of town for local sports tournaments! Sorry, due to family allergies we do not allow pets. Ok Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and riverfront property, with the exception of two locked owner’s storage closets (second floor and basement). Outside, two separate outbuildings (garage and pole barn) are locked, but access may be requested for temporary boat storage. Other things to note Summer bookings require 3 night minimum (June 8-Aug. 31). Water Sports: 2 adult kayaks, 2 youth kayaks, and a paddleboard are available for your use on the river (late May - mid-Sept, water-level & safe conditions considered). Canoes may also be available if requested prior to your arrival. Be sure to bring river shoes or hiking sandals. A liability waiver for all members of your party will need to be signed prior to guest access. If you’re new to paddling, we recommend booking a float trip with French Creek Adventures, a canoe & kayak rental service in Cambridge Springs. Outdoor campfire area & firewood: The fire pit in the yard is available for your enjoyment (seasonal). Firewood is stacked nearby and provided for your use. Bugs: This is rural Pennsylvania, where summers can be hot and humid. You’re surrounded by the beautiful natural world and one of the most biologically diverse waterways in the eastern US. With that, if you’re planning to pursue outdoor activities, please expect to encounter some insect life (pollinators, mosquitos, mayflies, etc). We recommend keeping the cabin doors closed and bringing your preferred insect repellent. Cell phone service: Cell phone reception is strong for major providers (AT&T, Verizon) but guests with T-Mobile have reported limited reception and relied on the WiFi for connectivity.
