Description
Wake to the sounds of waves. Walk 5 minutes, dip in the sea, sip a frappé at the waterfront, or lounge on the veranda with sea & mountain views. Visit nearby Monemvasia while avoiding crowds at our spacious, lovingly-built seaside villa with an open, airy feel accented by artisan details - perfect for family vacations. Nearby you have hiking, beaches, seafood, wineries, 5-star spas, eco-tours, Dirou caves, castles, Elafonisos, Mystras, Gythio and Mani. Ask us about longer-term stays. The space Seaview Villa Plytra sleeps up to 16 guests and has 6 large bedrooms (4 queen beds, up to 6 single beds, plus sofa sleeping for 3), with 3 full bathrooms, free high-speed Wi-Fi, a fully equipped kitchen, BBQ, games, and beach toys. Upon entering you’ll be instantly swept away by open, airy living spaces, large bay windows, and scenes of the Aegean Sea, the ruins of Ancient Asopos, and surrounding mountains from every room in the house. The villa gets its charm from its Scandinavian pine ceilings, hand-carved marble insets from the Greek island of Tinos, hand-sawn marble floors, and many expansive verandas for lounging with endless views. The tholoti (a vaulted, open-sided stone room) is a guest favorite for enjoying outdoor meals or coffee while still protected from the summer sun. Kids love the large gym area (with basic equipment) and playroom in the basement. Each bedroom has direct outdoor access, individual climate control, ceiling fans, screened windows to let in the fresh sea-air, high quality cotton sheets, and plush pillows. Guest access The house is yours alone to enjoy! You have access to the massive open-plan living area, all of the verandas and patios, the large pantry to store foods or do laundry, the yard, the library, the gym/play playroom, and kitchen. Generally, we make up beds and bedrooms according to the number of guests expected and their preferred sleeping arrangements. Unneeded bedrooms may be closed off during your stay. Other things to note Titika and Dimitri have co-hosted Airbnb guests here under our brother's account since 2015, with the property achieving a 'Guest Favorite' designation and a 4.93 star rating. We just transferred its operation to Titika's Airbnb account on Christmas, 2024. Facilities, staff, and policies will remain largely the same, but discounted rates will be offered for a limited time. We require the passport or identification details of the primary guest (generally the person who made the booking). Please also ensure that you have reported the correct quantity, names, and dates of all guests expected during your stay. Undue damages to the home or its contents, including heavy staining of linens or furniture, will incur reasonable fees for repair, replacement, or extra cleaning. Please ask about additional discounts for longer stays, especially in cooler months. Please note that Plytra is a small and somewhat remote village, and electricity, water, or internet may occasionally cut out due to construction or weather events. It is always restored within a few hours. PETS: *Well-behaved pets are very welcome! We do ask a 100 euro non-refundable deposit per pet. STORE HOURS: *Many local businesses close from 2 pm - 5 pm. *On Mondays and Wednesdays, local stores close for the day at 2 pm. *Sundays, most shops are closed, except for the mini-market in Plytra and larger Giannios Market in Papadianika. *You may run into traffic that consists of goats or sheep in the road or find the stray dogs or cats blocking an entrance to a market. They are mostly very friendly. ***The wind and weather do affect mobile phone service and Wi-fi at times. There is no mobile phone reception on many mountain roads, and in parts of the house, due to thick concrete walls.*** SEASONAL NOTES: *May/June and September/early October offer beach weather combined with solitude. *During July and August, much of Greece is on vacation and there are few rooms available in beach towns like ours. It gets very hot - bring extra sunscreen, hats and drink lots of water. You may also want to reserve beach chairs in advance at your favorite beach. *November and December can be "wet" months and are the olive harvest season. However, they are also called the 'second spring': yellow, pink, purple, and white flowers line the meadows and hillsides and there is an enjoyable mix of sun and rain, resulting in fantastic cloudscapes and rainbows viewable regularly from our balconies.
