Relaxing stay, large garden - bring the dogs!

Peaceful and relaxing country retreat with large, safe garden in the beautiful Devon countryside, set between two rivers and rolling fields. Perfect for a family break including the dogs. 10 minute walk to the village train station with connections to Plymouth (& University) or over the viaduct to Calstock in Cornwall. Great village pub a short walk away. 20 minute drive to Tavistock, gateway to Dartmoor National Park. Ideal base for canoeists, cyclists, walkers and train enthusiasts. The space Country house with lots of room for a family stay and two well behaved dogs! Driveway for two cars and parking in front of the property. We also have a covered area for storing motorbikes/pushbikes/canoes & kayaks etc. Our house is situated in a very quiet area, apart from a few farm vehicles the only noise you will hear will be bird song. It is a great location for a family to relax, enjoy and explore the surrounding area. Although we have the train station only a 10 minute walk we do recommend a car to really enjoy this part of Devon. Gravel paths wrap around the house with secure gates. We have a large garden for children and dogs to run around, it is secure if the gates are safely shut. The area beyond the far gate with the apple trees in is private as it is unfenced and easy for dogs to escape. There is a patio and seating area and it's a great spot to enjoy the sun all afternoon and into the evening. A lovely area for outside dining with BBQ. We do ask guests to be respectful of overly excessive noise when in the garden due to our lovely elderly neighbours. The property is accessed through the porch which has coat hooks and plenty of room to store muddy boots and shoes. There are a couple dog towels provided for muddy paws/wet dogs. After entering the hallway you will find two bedrooms to the left on the ground floor, one has a kingsize bed that also converts to a twin and this has views onto the front garden, there is a chest of drawers and wardrobe for storage. For your stay please let us know how you would like the beds configured. Bedroom two has a double bed with storage and also looks out onto the front garden. Upstairs we have the third bedroom with a kingsize bed, plus another single bed. The main bed will also convert to a twin making a great space as a triple for children or just a lovely kingsize room (let us know how you would like it configured). It has a sloping roof so please watch your head in certain areas! It has beautiful views to the garden and through the velux windows across to Dartmoor. The main bathroom is also located upstairs with a bath/shower toilet and shelving. We provide shower products, hair shampoo and conditioner. We also have our locked storage room upstairs. Back downstairs we have a ground floor toilet, basin and bathroom cabinet for storage. The kitchen area has all the amenities including a dishwasher and washing machine. It also has a big range cooker. There is a large table for family dining. The lounge is a great space with plenty of room for everyone. It has two sofas and a huge TV, great for a film night! From here you can access the rear garden through the patio doors. We have lots of books, puzzles, games, some lego, cars and garage to play with. We have a working wood burner that can be used please advise if you would like this provided during your stay. Logs, kindling and firelighters can be provided but there will be a charge. We provide bed linen, towels, toilet rolls and bathroom toiletries and kitchen essentials for your stay. Guest access Guests can access all the house and gardens. We keep the garage and an upstairs room locked for storage. The bottom garden is private due to it being unfenced. Other things to note Applewood is in a very quiet area, apart from a few farm vehicles the only noise is usually bird song! We also have lovely elderly neighbours and politely request that guests please respect excessive noise level when outside in the garden.
