No 2 Townhouse If you’ve ever imagined staying in a wonderful Victorian townhouse, then this is the place for you. Located on a quiet road just a few minutes’ walk from the heritage attractions surrounding Auckland Palace, No.2 Regent Street gives you a taste of affluent town living in the late 19th century, complemented by an exuberant and comfortable modern makeover. The space Sitting Room incorporating the Dining room This light spacious room runs the depth of the house with carpeting, soft furnishings and a bay window at the front framed with very lovely curtains , there is ample comfortable space incorporating a bright and very generous dining area , adjoining this is a large sitting room with sofas, modern lighting and fireplace ,combining the traditional in keeping with the age of the property with an added modern twist . Kitchen The smart compact kitchen has access onto the rear outside space and is equipped with everything you will need for a fabulous stay. Bedroom 1 Up the stairs you will find the main bedroom at the front of the property, looking south. Painted in restful green and cream colours, and furnished with a luxurious king-size bed and double sofa, this is a space for slow indulgent mornings and comfortable nights. All bedding provided. Bedroom 2 The second bedroom has a rear elevation, with a dressing table looking out to the greenery behind the house. This vibrant room is decorated in pinks, with another king-size bed. All bedding provided. Bathroom This is a generous size with a bath and overhead shower. All toiletries and towels provided. Guest access We provide a meet and greet service for check in between 3pm and 6pm. Outside of these hours you will be given access instructions to the property via a key box. Other things to note No. 2 is part of a terrace of tall Victorian townhouses which were built at the end of the nineteenth century at the height of the town’s industrial expansion. They would once have been homes for some of Bishop Auckland’s merchant /professional class and their families. At the rear of the property is an enclosed outside space which is ideal for dogs and muddy boots, with access into the kitchen. The house is situated on a quiet residential street which is only a few minutes’ walk from Auckland Palace, the Spanish Gallery and the peaceful Palace gardens and deer park.
