Modern Countryside Annex

A 1 bed modern annex in Chilcompton a lovely village in Somerset, England, in the Mendip Hills. It has a private entrance, a kitchenette with oven, washing machine and fridge and an en-suite shower room. A great base between Bath and Wells with gorgeous views of the countryside. Other things to note Walks: If you want to walk straight from our doorstep, there’s a lovely 2.5-mile loop (mostly along country lanes) past Downside School in Stratton-on-the-Fosse. Within a short drive, you can explore Ammerdown Woods, Midsomer Norton Nature Reserve, or Stockhill Woods. We’re also just a 15-20 minute drive from Wells, a charming city worth exploring on foot. Food: There’s a lovely pub in the village called The Redan, just a 10-minute walk from our house. They serve a delicious roast dinner, and you can often get a table without a reservation. However, it’s always a good idea to call ahead and book. The Holcombe is another lovely country pub a 5/10 minute drive away (although you could walk if you’re feeling ambitious and the weather permits). The Pig near Bath- it’s a 25 minute drive but a lovely place to eat. There is also a co-op within walking distance if you need any supplies. Bath: Bath is approximately 12 miles away, and you can drive there within 35 minutes. I usually drive to the Park and Ride in Odd Down (which takes around 20 minutes) and then take the bus into town. Parking can be quite busy on Saturdays, especially if Bath rugby is playing at home. You’ll have plenty of restaurant options to choose from.
