"ARCTIC" FINSE - the CRADLE of "ICE PLANET HOTH"

The apartment is situated at Finse station, 1222 m above sea level, between Oslo and Bergen. This amazing place is surrounded by two national parks. Unwind in an almost noiseless area to be reached only by train, bike, skis or foot. Popular summer activities are hiking in the mountains or on the glacier, biking to Flåm, and fishing. Popular winter activities are skiing and ski kiting/ski sailing. Enjoy the famous film location for the Star Wars "The empire strikes back", recorded in 1979. The space The apartment is very modern with high quality comfort. It is cosy and bright, due to large windows stretching from floor to ceiling in two directions. The view is spectacular. Very easy access from the train which stops behind the building. No need to walk in stairs, as we have a separate entrance to the flat from the east side of the building - or from the terrace, when the snow stretches 5-6 meters up along the east wall. The kitchen is fully equipped. You only need walk a few minutes away from the tiny train station to find total silence, but if you prefer your rest time to be more adrenaline-filled, then the countryside surrounding Finse offers nordic skiing in winter and hiking in sum-mer, not to mention what could be Norway's steepest mountain-bike ride. Our private assets are kept in a locked storage room. On site you will find detailed instructions (manuals) on how to get setup once you arrive. You will also receive them in advance by email. Other things to note There is no grocery store at Finse. You have to bring the food with you. Sometimes bread might be ordered at our neighbour the Hotel Finse 1222. To further ensure your food supply you can travel by train to the nearest stores at Ustaoset or Geilo. You might enjoy breakfast and dinner at the hotel. It is, however, closed in December and June and some other short periods. You cannot arrive at Finse by car. You have to clean the apartement yourself before departure.
