The Quarters - Royston Station

Perfect venue for a larger group looking for a farmstaycation. If you love nature, photography, farm life, animals, birdwatching, stargazing, artesian water soaks, walking, relaxing, rugged landscapes, stunning skies and sunsets, spending time with family and friends, then The Quarters n might be the place for you. The Quarters is a short walk to the baby lake, and is complete with jetty and tables, a great spot for morning coffee or afternoon drinks or a picnic. The space Royston Station is about 64km southwest of Longreach on the main highway heading southwest out of town on the road to Jundah and Stonehenge and will even get you as far as Birdsville. It's a good bitumen road to our turn off, then just a short dirt road drive of 4k to your front gate. As the name suggests, this venue has been a shearers quarters in a past life, although we have updated it somewhat with a few modern additions, flyscreens, air conditioners, flushing toilets etc. The large front deck is fitted out with places to sit, dining table and chairs and a BBQ for sitting out and /or enjoying a meal outdoors. Just through the front sliding doors is a sitting room with comfy couches and the kitchen /pantry area. Moving through the sliding barn door takes you to a huge 'common' room with bedrooms off to the sides. This big room contains couches, bookcases with games, toys and books. The big dining room table also lives here. There a 6 bedrooms in all, with a combination of bed configurations. Bedroom 1 has a double decker bed, double bed underneath and a single bed on top. Bedroom 2 contains 2 single beds. Bedroom 3 boasts the king size bed, walk in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom / toilet. Bedroom 4 and 5 contains a double bed. Bedroom 6 has 2 single beds. Besides the ensuite, there is the main bathroom that has two showers and two toilets and houses the laundry facilities. The clothesline is out the back of the Quarters. The baby lake as we like to call it is a hop, step and jump from The Quarters building, and the jetty is the perfect place to sit in the morning or afternoon and watch the birds do their thing under a vast changing sky. Guest access The Quarters space is completely yours. We ask that you stay clear of the little hut at the back of the Quarters until such time as we do a few renovations. Feel free to park your car under the side undercover area. We ask that you stay within the precinct of the Quarters and also the fenced paddock where the cottages and baby lake are. This is for your own safety and our peace of mind as this is a fully functional working property. Any gates that you come through that are closed, we ask you to close them behind you. otherwise you may have some goats coming to visit you on your front verandah.
