Our villa offers a peaceful escape designed for those seeking an authentic, nature-filled experience. Whether you're looking for mountainside adventure or a tranquil place to unwind, Msasa Villa provides the perfect setting to slow down, relax, and be inspired. The Space Msasa Villa is located in the peaceful village of Manchewe, close to Livingstonia in Northern Malawi. The villa was built with intention, care, and a lot of love, and we’re excited to share our little getaway with you. Perched in the treetops with stunning views of the Great Rift Valley and Lake Malawi, our villa was handcrafted using local materials and designed with an earthy, calming aesthetic. The blend of minimalist design, natural materials, and unique Malawian craftsmanship creates the perfect laid-back vibe. Inside, the open-plan living, dining, and kitchen area is bright, spacious, and filled with natural light. The tall ceilings and stylish decor feature a selection of games, books, artwork, ceramics, handwoven textiles, rugs, and designer furniture—all adding to the relaxing experience. Our well-equipped kitchen includes a gas oven and cooktop, a large fridge-freezer, and a variety of cooking equipment for the avid home cook (we recommend picking up groceries at Shoprite in Mzuzu). If you prefer a meal out, you can easily visit our main camp next to our Villa. We serve great food, cold beer, and offer a chance for meaningful conversations. We’ve also introduced a delivery service, where you can have take-away meals and drinks brought straight to your door. More details are in our guest book when you arrive. The villa has two bedrooms: a queen bedroom with access to the sunny main deck, and a double bedroom with a cozy bespoke single-bed loft that both children and adults will enjoy. We provide fresh bed linens, mosquito nets, and bath towels for all beds. Our spacious bathroom features a shower with hot water and views over Lake Malawi. The Villa is surrounded by a large, covered cliffside deck with plenty of seating to enjoy the fresh breeze and warm evenings, all while taking in the views of fishing boats on the lake. Outside, you’ll find yourself drawn to a hammock with a good book or one of our chill-out nooks for an afternoon nap. In the evenings, cozy up by the outdoor fire pit under the stars, or unwind in our iconic wood-fired outdoor bathtub. For those seeking adventure, we offer guided daily treks to nearby Manchewe waterfalls, farm-to-table coffee tours, and stunning views of the Chombe Plateau. After a day of hiking, relax with a one-hour full-body massage while overlooking the Great Rift Valley. Guest access Our Camp Manager, will meet you at the villa for a quick tour. Afterward, you’ll have your own set of keys, so you can come and go as you please. We provide a lockbox, and our team will always be working onsite, day and night. Other things to note Located 2-3 hours north of Mzuzu and near the historic town of Livingstonia, the Villa is the perfect base for exploring Northern Malawi. With several shortcuts running through our land, we are just 7 minutes to the Msasa main camp and 12 minutes to Msasa Garden, where we have a permaculture garden and a view of Manchewe waterfall.
