Description
Pisé Cottage at Calabash Waters offers a place for you to relax, regenerate and reconnect with nature, with yourself and with each other. If it's exploring the surrounding historical towns of Bathurst, Peel, Sofala, Orange or Mudgee or simply immersing yourself in nature then this is your place. We offer a completely low tox environment from no artificial fragrances/products to circadian lighting. The space The original Pisé Cottage dates back to the late 1800's. Pisé is a building technique, also known as rammed earth, where walls are constructed by compacting moistened earth between formwork panels. The only original features of the cottage that were possible to salvage were the 2 fireplaces in the bedrooms and later the Aga oven. We have kept the original footprint and lovingly restored the fireplaces and rebuilt this cozy cottage to offer a unique stay in the country. Guest access Guests have access to 100 acres of the property including bush walks, picnic spots and swimming in the dam. Other things to note Calabash Waters is a family run working farm producing quality lamb and truffles. At particular times of the year there is the opportunity to witness certain activities like truffle hunts, rounding up sheep, shearing. If your stay is when we'll be out on the farm we'll let you know and if possible, give you the opportunity to participate in a farming activity. Registration Details Exempt
