Laxárbakki is situated on the banks of the Laxa river in Hvalfjord. Only an hour drive from Reykjavik, Laxárbakki offers a professional accommodation close to some of Iceland's most interesting sights. These studio apartments are new and comfortable. They have a double bed and a pull out sleeping sofa. The apartment has a balcony facing either north or south. They are equipped with a kitchen where you find all you need for a regular cooking session. Furthermore, there is a washing facility on site, making it an ideal stay for longer periods. There is a hot tub for our guests to enjoy, along with a restaurant and bar. The surroundings have everything to offer. Only a few minutes drive and you are in Hvalfjord, one of Iceland's most attractive fjords. The country's highest waterfall, Glymur is to be found at the bottom of the fjord and it is well worth the trip to see it. Laxárbakki is close to Snæfellsnes which hosts Snæfellsjökull glacier, the setting for one of Jules Verne's most famous books, "The journey to the center of the earth".
