Originally built in 1889 by John Thomas Trible (JTT) Hundley, Hoskins Country Store played a vital role in the once-thriving town of Dunnsville. Operated by Hundley’s son-in-law, Willard Dunbar Hoskins, the store served as a central hub for the community until around 1912. Decades later, in 1970, the space was once again used for commercial purposes, carrying on its legacy of service. JTT Hundley was also the third owner of Hundley Hall (circa 1840), named for the school he once operated on the property. In 2024, both Hundley Hall and Hoskins Country Store were officially added to the National Register of Historic Places, recognizing their lasting significance. Guest access The studio is located in the original general store space. Parking is located to the left of the building (marked with a white stripe!). The area to the left of this space and the 2nd floor are private owner areas. These areas will not be accessed by the owners during guests' stays. Please feel free to use the picnic tables and the yellow Adirondack chairs! Other things to note There is a cool vintage gumball machine in the kitchen and yes, it works! Just put your quarter in to enjoy a yummy taste of nostalgia! * Our amenities lists includes an iron, but we actually have a fabric steamer available (there was no option to select this from the list!). There is an even older general store located just next to Hoskins Country Store that has been unoccupied for 25 years. This store was built circa 1848 by the original owner of the main home on our property, Hundley Hall, and operated for over 150 years! This old building, known as Ware's Store, is privately owned, so we do ask that you view it from the road. Traveling in an RV? Contact us prior to booking to arrange parking.
