Dammuso Sogno

The Dammuso “Sogno” (“Dream”) is placed in the wildest and most uncontaminated part of the island of Pantelleria , near the amazing Nikà bay. Within a natural reserve, it dominates the sea over a 150 meters cliff. In clear blue sky days you will see in front of the Dammuso the Tunis coast and you will be able to admire the Capo Bon lighthouse at night. You will have a 180 degrees view over the sea: it will feel like floating on a wide boat overlooking a perfect sunset. The Dammuso “Sogno” is built with the traditional Pantelleria rural building structure. The walls are thick lava stone which allow a perfect temperature within during all seasons, while the white roof collects the water into an old tank. A few kilometres away from the Dammuso you can find the lovely Scauri community with its old church, a cinema, and a convenient supermarket, a tobacco shop, a pub, a restaurant, a little tourist port, a pizzeria and a dancing room. Nikà bay is about 1 Km from the Dammuso “Sogno” and can be reached on foot through an evocative path through the Mediterranian scrub, with its blackberry bushes and capperi plants. Nikà is a small gulf, a gem where you can find hot water termal springs result of the volcanic activity on the island.
