Ridgeline Campsite @ Petrified Forest

Adjacent to the Petrified Forest National Park and overlooking the Painted Desert’s Lithodendron Wash, The Ridgeline tent site at the Campfire Adventure Ranch is located on an old ostrich ranch and a perfect base camp for your outdoor adventure. The 40 acre ranch is located on a dirt road off I-40 and just an exit away from the north entrance to Petrified Forest National Park. It is one of the closest lodging options to the park. The space This is a tent camping site near Petrified Forest National Park. The site is about 500 or so feet from the parking area and very private (for the desert.) The site is a cross between a backpacking site and a more modern camping area. Not a campground. Rugged desert campsite with picnic table and fire ring. There is an old corral on the property shared by all guests at the ranch. You can use this area to picnic and grill (bring your own charcoal.) This is also the nearest toilet, a porta-potty. You will want to bring your own toilet paper. While you may not get TP or charcoal, what I do promise is amazing views of the painted desert and being one of the closest (if not the closest) camping sites to the park, there is convenience as well. At night, if there are no clouds you will be in for a treat of stars as well. Guest access Guests will have access to the campsite as well as the historic corral picnic area. They are welcome to roam around the ranch but please use Leave No Trace principles. Other things to note Bring all your camping gear and equipment but pack out what you pack in. We do not have a garbage service at the property. Please observe local fire bans and if you do have a fire, be VERY SMART with it and put it completely out, cool to the touch. This is important. No fireworks, or weapons of any kind. You are camping near a wash to be aware of any changes to the weather. Also be smart with food and smellables as there have been animals seen on the property. Keep food, etc in the car.
