Gorllan - peaceful holiday cottage

Welcome to Gorllan, our beautiful historic (Grade II listed) North Pembrokeshire cottage. Gorllan is an ideal hideaway for two adults - either a couple or friends. In a peaceful village location, tucked away behind the church, it is a convenient central spot for exploring coast, countryside and mountains of the National Park and beyond. It is equidistant from the small towns of Newport and Cardigan. Suitable for all seasons, with a woodburning stove and Rayburn as well as central heating. The space You enter Gorllan into the dining room which has a table and chairs, as well as other seating around the Rayburn and Welsh dresser. To one side of the dining room is the sitting room, separated from the dining room by an historic timber wall and door. The sitting room has a woodburning stove and two sofas (one of which can on request be sofa bed for guests who do not want to share a bed.) There is wifi, a small smart television and a selection of books of local interest. The dining room has a table and chairs for eating as well as other seating around the Rayburn. The kitchen and newly installed shower room are in a small modern ground floor extension. Ample pans and crockery are provided as well as various cooking appliances for those who don't wish to use the Rayburn. The original stairs are steep (hence not advised for young children or those with restricted mobility) and lead to a dressing room and bedroom with king-size bed. We are vegan friendly . We have carefully sourced all furnishings, beddings, toiletries etc with this in mind, but do not expect that all guests will follow a plant based diet when with us. Other things to note Gorllan is located in a quiet village in which you will hear the Welsh language spoken as a normal part of community life. As when abroad, attempts at basic greetings and thank yous in the local language is always appreciated. The area is rich in history and tradition - we provide books about the local area and it's history and a few of our books are Welsh or bilingual. Most people will want to travel to Gorllan and around the area by car. But for those planning a walking and/or cycling holiday other options are possible, We can recommend a small local company with extensive knowledge of the Preseli mountains, Gwaun Valley and Coastal path, able to offer bespoke services which include tailored walking itineraries
