A short drive takes you to the charming village of Cawthorne, home to Cannon Hall Farm, while Shibden Hall in Halifax, famous for Gentleman Jack, and the renowned Yorkshire Sculpture Park are both within easy reach. Just a five-minute walk from the cottage, there is a welcoming country pub and restaurant, as well as a well-stocked supermarket open 24/7, where smokeless fuel for the stove is readily available. Dating back to the early 1700s, The Gables was once the village store. Though it has been renovated to a high standard, great care has been taken to preserve its original character, with features such as four fireplaces, exposed beams, and uniquely shaped rooms. The interiors have been thoughtfully designed in soft, earthy tones to create a warm and tranquil retreat. The fully centrally heated cottage includes a charming country-style kitchen with a range cooker, combination microwave, fridge, and washing machine, as well as a pantry with a large fridge freezer. The separate dining room, with its multi-fuel burner, features a pitch pine dining table with seating for four, alongside a four-seater Chesterfield sofa. The inviting lounge, with its stove-effect gas fire, boasts a sumptuous four-seater leather Chesterfield sofa, an armchair, a large coffee table, and a Smart TV. The master bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, two chests of drawers, and a large double wardrobe, while the second bedroom has two single beds, two bedside cabinets with drawers, a chest of drawers, and a built-in cupboard. Additional storage is available on the landing with an extra chest of drawers. The two bedrooms share a stunning vintage-style bathroom featuring a roll-top bath, a separate shower cubicle, a French-style cabinet, and crystal chandeliers, adding to the room’s elegance and charm. Bed linen, towels, a hairdryer, and ironing facilities are all provided for guests. Throughout the cottage, high-quality furniture and soft furnishings enhance its character and ambiance.
