Klein Holland Harz therefore offers a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that will delight young and old alike throughout the day! Go to the pub in the evening... What would the Netherlands be without Amsterdam, and what would Amsterdam be without the red light district? It would be like Zaanse Schans without clogs, Kinderdijk without windmills and Keukenhof without tulips... ...absolutely nothing... And that's why we at Klein Holland have made something special out of it here too! It starts right in the lobby; you feel like you're walking along the red-lit canals, and as soon as you step through the door, you find yourself in a cozy "Redlight District Bar" called Klein Amsterdam. This space contains a bar and high, round tables with seating/standing options. Naturally, the whole place is decorated with a playful nod to Amsterdam's most infamous square kilometer. In addition to standard equipment such as a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, dishwasher, ice cube machine, crockery, glassware, etc., the bar also has a beer tap, to which two (different) kegs can be connected at the same time. This may be used free of charge, but you are responsible for providing the kegs and ensuring that everything is left clean and rinsed. The beer tap may only be used in the bar and may not be moved. Klein Amsterdam also has a smart TV, a projector and a music system that can be easily connected to your own mobile phone or tablet. Klein Amsterdam has its own toilet. Fight, win and lose together in the gaming zone... Adjacent to Klein Amsterdam is our gaming zone. It is equipped with: • 8 ft pool table • 8 ft air hockey table • Table football • Poker table • Darts • Cupboards full of classic board games, card games, puzzles, etc. No babysitters needed, because we have Kinderwunderland! Although we have created a small, cosy pub with Klein Amsterdam, we have of course also thought of a nice and safe place for the little ones. While the adults enjoy their drinks and the teenagers have fun at the gaming tables, the children can let off steam in the fairytale playroom, which is equipped with: • Ball pit • Lego table • Train table • Smart TV There are also various craft materials that can be used to your heart's content. In the basement, there is a second playroom with jungle and ocean themes, equipped with: • Indoor climbing frame • Ball pit • Various play tables • Painting supplies • Smart TV This means you can sit comfortably at the table in the adjoining dining area for a long time while the children entertain themselves. Work out or relax... The upper floor also has a room with an infrared sauna for up to 4 people and a home gym with various fitness equipment. •Treadmill • Cross trainer • Speed bike The room is equipped with a Bluetooth speaker, allowing you to easily listen to your favourite music using your own mobile phone or tablet. Adjacent to this is a balcony with a beautiful view of nature. The balcony is equipped with two wooden lounge chairs. Cool down... Klein Holland Harz has a beautiful large outdoor pool measuring 5.60 x 3.50 metres (internal dimensions) with a depth of approx. 1.20 metres and a magnificent waterfall. We try to keep the pool open every year from mid-May to mid-September. However, due to the weather conditions in the Harz Mountains, this is not always possible. As long as or as soon as night frost is forecast, for example, the pumps and solar heating cannot be connected/remain connected and the pool is unfortunately no longer available. The pool is heated by a solar system. On really nice days, the water temperature can reach up to 28°C. A sand filter system with a salt electrolysis system is used as the disinfection system. We use electronic measuring devices that continuously take measurements to keep the water values as optimal as possible. In addition, we regularly check the water values manually with a second electronic measuring device. For the little ones, we have an additional children's pool with a diameter of approx. 174 cm and a maximum depth of 15 cm. And being active together... The garden also offers various entertainment options, including: • Trampoline (at ground level) • Table tennis • Giant chess game • Climbing tower with swings, slides and various play elements • Sandpit • Watercourse • Tree house There are several picnic tables and barbecues where you can sit and eat in comfort. Tourist information In the basement, we have set up a central information point, which is of course also in keeping with the theme. Numerous brochures are displayed on the walls, providing information about the many things to do in the Harz region. As always, we are of course happy to help if you need any assistance! Mountain village of Sieber The picturesque village of Sieber is located on the edge of the Harz National Park in the Sieber Valley, surrounded by extensive forests, exciting high altitudes and phenomenal views. All these ingredients make this paradise one of the most beautiful hiking areas in Europe. A nature reserve known for its unique flora and fauna, where there are new discoveries to be made on every adventure. In addition to the beautiful surroundings and wonderful nature, and despite the fact that Sieber is a small village, there is also plenty to do in the village itself! “Große Wiese” leisure park For children, the approximately 65,000 m2 “Große Wiesen” leisure park, less than a 3-minute walk away, offers a large adventure playground. Here they can climb, scramble and slide to their heart's content. The park also has a mini golf course and an outdoor swimming pool with a children's pool. But the park also offers plenty of recreational opportunities for the older generation. It has a beautiful pond and extensive, well-kept lawns with beautiful flower beds. Here you can enjoy a lovely walk without too much effort. Hiking fun With an oversized bench, a giant wind chime, a charcoal kiln, a barefoot path and many other interesting stations, the nature trail is a fun hiking adventure, especially for children. In addition, the panoramic trail, which winds around Sieber like a cloverleaf, offers many beautiful views and distant vistas. Klein Holland Harz can also be seen from different angles! And if you look closely, you may even be lucky enough to spot small and large forest animals. Highlights In addition to the smaller hiking trails in and around Sieber, there are also larger ones such as: the Harzer Baudensteig Part 2 and Part 3 (also part of the Harzer Wandernadel), as well as the European long-distance hiking trail number 6. The hiking trails to the Großer Knollen and Hanskühnenburg lead to the most beautiful highlights and start right next to the front door! The Harz The Harz, where an oasis of calm, beautiful nature and many hiking trails begin right on your doorstep. But where you are also just a few minutes' drive away from the lively part of the Harz with its many cosy towns, beautiful villages, cultural sights and adventurous experiences. And where in winter, when Mother Holle transforms the landscape into a white winter wonderland, the snow fun begins right outside your door and various ski areas are within easy reach, such as the Matthias Schmidt Mountain in Sankt Andreasberg, the Wurmberg in Braunlage or the Bocksberg in Hahnenklee. There are also numerous smaller ski areas in the surrounding area. Here, where in every season, both in the beautiful surroundings and in and around our cosy ‘Klein Holland Harz’, you can spend a wonderful holiday under the “Zaanse” motto ‘Oit & Tois’, or as they say in German, “outside and yet at home”. The Harz is therefore a destination with endless possibilities. No one needs to be bored here! In the Harz, every season is a great adventure for young and old. There are plenty of leisure and recreational opportunities to suit every taste, and almost all places and attractions in the Harz Mountains can be reached from Klein Holland Harz within an hour. We believe that even we, as residents, will never manage to see all the beautiful places and attractions! So it's no surprise that many people visit the Harz Mountains every year or even several times a year. Although Klein Holland Harz itself has an extensive information centre, we can well imagine that you would like to know what there is to see and do during your stay before you leave home. The best and always up-to-date travel guide for this is the Harz Tourism Association. HarzCard With the purchase of the HarzCard, you can take advantage of many discounts and even free admission. If you plan to be on the go a lot and want to experience as much as possible, we highly recommend the HarzCard! It is definitely worth buying. All the latest information on purchasing and using the HarzCard can be found on the HarzCard website. When you purchase a 4-day HarzCard, you can travel to or from the Brocken once free of charge. You can choose your HSB boarding point for the Brocken. If you purchase an additional ticket on the same day, the price of the single journey will be credited at all HSB sales points. Please note! Never order additional tickets for the Brocken journey if you have purchased the 4-day HarzCard. To the horizon and back... The Brocken, also known as Blocksberg, is the highest mountain in northern Germany at 1141.2 metres and is located in the Harz National Park. The mountain is a popular tourist attraction and can be climbed on foot or by bicycle via various hiking and cycling trails. Another unique experience is the ride to the top on the narrow-gauge railway. The journey takes you from former East Germany through the wilderness of the Harz National Park with magnificent views to the highest peak. A peak that is known for its capricious weather conditions, where snow in late spring and early autumn is no exception, and which can offer impressive panoramic views of more than a hundred kilometres in clear weather. It is notorious not only for its fame but also for its many legends, including the phenomenon of the ‘Brocken spectre’ and Walpurgis, where witches and devils rule. In cooperation with Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH, we can offer our guests train tickets to the Brocken at an attractive price. If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please order your tickets at least 14 days before your stay with us. We will then ensure that the tickets are ready for the entire group. Tickets purchased/ordered from us are valid indefinitely. This means you can wait for the best weather conditions and even save the tickets for your next stay in the Harz Mountains. In addition, tickets purchased/ordered from us always guarantee that you can travel at the desired time and date. This means you can go straight to the platform to board the train as soon as it arrives and immediately enjoy the fantastic journey to the Brocken! We wish all our guests lots of fun at this highlight of the Harz Mountains! Guest access The existing facilities may be used free of charge. All of the rooms described, the main entrance, the rear entrance, the terrace behind and to the side, and the rear courtyard are exclusively at your disposal. The front garden and the entrance there belong to us privately.
