Description
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Set in the peaceful Lorton Vale, Dale Cottage is ideal for exploring five nearby lakes, including Buttermere and Derwent Water, as well as the attractions of Keswick and Cockermouth. The village of High Lorton has a shop, a pub serving great meals, and lovely views of the surrounding fells. The cottage has an attractive garden with facilities for outdoor eating and private parking for two cars. Red squirrels are regular visitors. The space The cottage is converted from the village pub. It has a pretty beamed kitchen / dining room with seating for 4 guests. It has an electric cooker with an extraction fan, a fridge freezer , microwave, dish washer and washer/drier with a large kitchen cupboard housing an ironing board, iron and vacuum cleaner. Cleaning materials are provided. The work tops are Lakeland slate. The sunny sitting room has a wood burner, with logs provided, and French windows opening on to garden. There are two sofas and a leather arm chair, book shelves, games, TV, radio and WIFi. for cosy evenings after busy days out. The double bedroom with a view of the hills, has a comfortable kingsize bed. There is a vanity unit, dressing table with hair dryer and built in wardrobe. The second bedroom has twin, 3ft single beds and a wardrobe with drawer space. It also has a wash basin. There is a useful drying cupboard off the landing. The newly altered bath room has a large bath with shower over and a wall heater. The walled garden has a garden table with seating and deck chairs. Garden seats with a parasol can be found in the garden store with the barbeque. The garden store can be used to house bikes. There are bird feeders on the trees and the garden is frequently visited by interesting birds and a red squirrel. The graveled road outside the cottage is owned by Dale Cottage and there is parking for two cars. There is space to sit in the evening sun for a barbeque, Guest access The cottage is approached from Smithy Fold, a lane off the main road through the village.
