Description

A welcoming retreat in the little village of Blythburgh offers a tranquil holiday base for a family or friends set in this National Landscape. This single-storey property sleeps six guests and is thoughtfully furnished, together with a large garden. A friendly country pub is within a 500-metre stroll, and Blythburgh’s magnificent 15th-century Holy Trinity church overlooking the River Blyth hosts regular classical concerts. The delightful seaside village of Walberswick is a 3. The space 5-mile drive away, or you can take the scenic 2.5-mile walk along the banks of the Blyth, looking out for the river’s thriving bird life at low tide. Pale wood and soft shades enhance the restful quality of your comfortable holiday home. At the hub is a light and airy open-plan living space overlooking the rear garden, with bi-fold doors opening onto the patio. A plush corner sofa is perfectly placed to watch the Smart TV, and the streamlined contemporary kitchen is well equipped alongside a spacious dining area. To the front are two inviting bedrooms: a king-size with an en-suite shower room and a double. There’s a family bathroom and a pretty twin bedroom at the rear. Outside, relax on the patio and under the canopy-covered corner with garden furniture, where you can enjoy the fresh air whatever the weather. There is private parking for two cars. Nearby Walberswick offers lovely walks along the sand and shingle beach, traditional pubs and a clutch of shops, along with the time-honoured tradition of crabbing. Charming seaside Southwold (5 miles), famous for its inland lighthouse, has a host of attractions, including a sandy beach, colourful beach huts and a splendid Edwardian pier, plus a good range of independent shops. Spot some of the UK’s rarest bird life at RSPB Minsmere (6.5 miles), where the Wild Zone’s fun for children includes building dens, hunting mini-beasts and a play area. Or find the path through a puzzle of pathways at the Maize Maze (3 miles), along with zip wires, go-karts and more.
