Walks through woodlands to the coastal path, beaches, local coves and Brixham, all accessible from the village. The just over 1 mile coastal meander to Brixham Harbour and town is very picturesque and once there you will find a vibrant mix of cafes, shops and restaurants. Regular bus services are available nearby too. So if desired walk there ride back...... Autumn Rose cottage has a pleasant outlook to the rear with sheep, lambs and goats in the field beyond, along with the sound of birds singing. It's approached via an original cobbled pathway. Many of the period features remain, including wooden beams, the flagstone floor and a large stone fireplace with a wood burner perfect for cozying up in the wintertime with a good book from the excellent selection available. To the rear is a totally enclosed sunny courtyard garden, which is enhanced by an array of seasonal flowering plants along with ample garden furniture. A barbecue is provided, ideal for a sunny evening and the catch of the day from the harbour fish market. The local pub - The Railway Inn is within walking distance and serves a good selection of dishes. Additionally there is within a 5 minute walk a regular bus service to Brixham, Paignton and Torquay. Autumn Rose is well equipped (the owner being a keen cook), and is a home away from home along with quality, traditional furniture. The primary bedroom contains a double bed, while the second bedroom contains full size bunk beds with toppers, making them perfectly suitable for adults. . An additional folding single bed is situated in the loft room (Crow's Nest) and is suitable for children to sleep in unsupervised ages 5 to 15 (due to access via a ladder and limited headroom in some areas). Alternatively, a double sofa bed is available in the living room. The newly refurbished period bathroom complete with a roll-top bath and rain shower is an irresistible invitation to wind down and take a long soak. (Bubbles provided!) There is a great selection of toys, puzzles and games plus the quirky pirate-themed Crow's Nest loft room which is always a big hit with children of all ages. Beach towels, buckets and spades, fishing and crabbing lines, picnic basket and blanket, and local maps are all available to enable you to make the most of your stay. This makes the property ideal for couples seeking a peaceful break, lovers of walking and hiking as well as families wishing to enjoy the beaches and local attractions. Pets deserve a holiday too, and the garden is perfectly suited, as are all the wonderful walks, so up to 2 small/meduim well-behaved dogs and owners are welcome.
