It features a private dock with access to the Fox River and the Chain of Lakes, as well as direct entry to the Silver Creek Conservation Area. Located between the Fox River and the northern end of the Silver Creek Conservation Area, it’s only 1:15 from Chicago and 1:30 from Milwaukee. The ideal spot for a couple’s retreat, a small family adventure, or a solo escape to reconnect with nature. The space The unique style of our mid-century A-Frame house features a striking triangular silhouette with a steep, slanted roof, embodying the era's embrace of natural landscapes and organic design. Its large windows overlooking the channel invite abundant natural light and create a seamless connection with the surrounding environment. Our home utilizes warm woods, earthy colors, and natural materials that enhance its integration into the riverside setting. The open floor plan promotes communal living, highlighting simplicity and functionality that reflect the aesthetics of the 1950s and 1960s. Whether you enjoy fishing, tubing, water skiing, or simply cruising along the river, our home offers an unbeatable setting for fun. Navigate upstream to the Lock and Dam for access to a chain of lakes, or take a short ride to popular spots like The Broken Oar or Kief's Reef, both just five minutes away by water. The Fox River boasts countless bars and restaurants accessible by boat, car, or motorcycle. If bringing a boat, we provide a shore station that accommodates boats up to 21 feet. For biking or hiking enthusiasts, there are numerous excellent options nearby. Directly across the street, Silver Creek Conservation Area offers miles of hiking trails and abundant wildlife viewing opportunities. Moraine Hills State Park, recognized as one of Illinois’ top ten state parks, features 2,200 acres of glacial landscapes, wetlands, and lakes. Perfect for year round recreation. Additionally, the Fox Trail and Prairie Trail are nearby multi-use paths for walking or cycling. For motorcycle enthusiasts, the scenic roads of northern Illinois and biker-friendly bars make for an exciting day out. Guest access Access to deck, dock, patio, fire pit, kayaks, canoes, and hammocks. The garage and the deck off the second floor of the garage building are off-limits. While flooding occurs roughly once every ten years, if it were to happen during your scheduled stay, we would need to cancel your reservation as the property would be inaccessible.
