Description
Located just minutes from the beautiful town of Lewisburg with convenient access to Williamsport (40 min), State College (1.25 hrs), Harrisburg (1 hr), and Hershey (1.5 hrs). The opportunities for recreation and entertainment are endless. If you would ask me what to do – I recommend staying in town and spending time on the Susquehanna River (rent kayaks or float in tubes) or peddle your way down the Buffalo Valley Rail Trail (rent bikes from Big Earls, or bring your own). The space We are confident guests will fall in love with the beautiful view of the Susquehanna River at this property. Watch the sun come up and listen to the birds as you sip on your morning coffee on the front deck. You might catch a bald eagle in flight or a whitetail deer roaming the island across the river. Nature abounds at this location if you take the time to look and listen. Guest access Guests will enter into the base garage via numbered keypad. Steps are directly inside the door to the left. Garage space and it's contents are not to be used by guests other than to access the stairs. There is a second numbered keypad at the top of the stairs to enter the apartment. Other things to note This apartment is in close proximity (but separate building) to a cottage which is occasionally rented out or occupied by our family and friends. Please be considerate of other guests on the property. This is a peaceful and quiet community and we prefer to keep it that way. No house parties, no fireworks, no shooting guns, no loud music. This is a location to enjoy the quiet and nature. We also want you to aware of occasional Mayfly influxes: Because this property is along the Susquehanna River you may experience an influx of Mayflies. Mayflies hatch seasonally in concentrated events that vary by species, location, and weather, typically from spring through fall, with some species emerging multiple times a year. The exact timing of a mayfly hatch depends on factors like water temperature and day length, which trigger the synchronous emergence of nymphs into their winged, sub-adult form. Mayflies are nuisance pests and cannot bite or sting. They are, however, very attracted to light, which can result in massive swarms around buildings at night and piles of dead flies below lights and windows in the morning. We have installed a bug zapper on the deck but at certain times it may not be enjoyable to use the deck the first hour or two after sunset. If there is an influx of Mayflies, we recommend not using the deck within the first hour of sunset. If you do want to use it, we would suggest either not using the patio doors (instead go thru the downstairs garage entrance and use the exterior deck stairs) or make sure all lights in the apartment are turned OFF before opening the door. The insects will swarm towards light, so if the apartment lights are on and the door is open you may get a large number of insects inside the apartment.
