Description

In the old garden of our Eifel farmhouse, a historic circus wagon looks forward to its guests. We have restored the 8 meter long and 2.5 meter wide larch wood trailer with a lot of love for detail, expanded it and furnished it comfortably to match our quarry stone house in a combination of nostalgic Eifel charm and French country house style. For people who are in the mood for an extraordinary break in a special atmosphere, the circus wagon is just the thing! The space The circus wagon in the old garden is located at the beginning of a small Eifel village embedded in a picturesque landscape. The accommodation is a favorite place for 1 - 3 people who are in the mood for an unusual time out in a special atmosphere. Enjoy nostalgic country house charm, slow down, hike, walk, cycle, circle the Eifelmaare, discover the small nearby half-timbered village of Monreal, enjoy the countryside, garden and nature around the accommodation, and experience the clear Eifel starry sky. All of this and much more is possible here! The old larch wood wagon is framed by our farmhouse built around 1880 (house name Baure), the old garden, a field, the village street and fruit trees. Above our 500-square-meter property, a short path leads from the village street to a small wooden gate, behind which the circus wagon is hidden. Outdoor terrace: If you pass the gate, you will see a small garden area on the right, equipped with a nostalgic beer garden set, a barbecue and deck chairs. This area is exclusively available to the guests of the circus wagon and is separated by a picket fence from the field, our house and the neighboring house. Wagon terrace: The covered, original preserved outdoor terrace overlooking the field offers an idyllic place for breakfast. Living space: The heart of the car is a cozy, spacious living room, furnished with old finds and antique treasures. Thus, the chest bench, drawer kitchen table, Windsor chair, wing chair and wood-burning stove result in a cozy place to eat, play, relax and tell stories. Desk: Opposite the stove is a desk made from an old window shutter. It is equipped with sufficient Bakelite sockets and can even be used as a home office space thanks to good Wi-Fi. Kitchen: Extensively equipped with a spacious work surface, ceramic sink, two hotplates, a nostalgic-style oven, a spacious fridge with a small freezer compartment, toaster, kettle, French press, mixer and hand blender, cooking and baking is a lot of fun even in the smallest of spaces. A selection of spices, oil, sugar, tea and coffee is also available. Bedroom: The bedroom overlooking the field is separated from the living room by an original preserved sliding door. It contains a self-designed and built double bed unit (140 x 200) for two people with a sleeping bunk above (75 x 200) for a child or another, mobile person. The built-in cabinet offers space for jackets, clothes and travel bags with a compartment, hooks and clothes rail. A side table, equipped with games and magazines, provides variety on rainy days. Cuddling up in the pillows in the evening and watching a movie is also possible thanks to the smart TV. Bathroom: On the opposite side, the bathroom integrated into the caravan is separated from the living room by a sliding door. With a toilet, a dresser converted into a washbasin and a shower tiled with Italian tiles and equipped with a nostalgic fitting, the bathroom offers maximum comfort in the smallest space. Record player and Internet radio: A special evening becomes even more special with the right music. Not only is there an Internet radio in a retro design in the circus wagon, but an original suitcase turntable from 1957 is also waiting to play a vinyl record. Guest access Separate entrance: Above our property, a short path leads from the village street to a small wooden gate, behind which the circus wagon is hidden. An iron staircase leads to the wagon terrace and there is the entrance door of the circus wagon. Other things to note Interaction with guests and check-in We live in the farmhouse opposite the circus wagon. For a relaxed and flexible arrival, check-in is via a key box. We like to welcome our guests personally during their stay, but otherwise we tend to stay in the background. We are happy to answer any questions and provide insider tips. Supplies: Ditscheid is a small village and is located a little off the beaten track without a supermarket or bakery. Therefore, it is advisable to make a stop in a supermarket in Mayen or Kaisersesch on the way to stock up on food. And if you only want to make a small purchase, you can simply drive to the Edekamarkt in Üersfeld, which is 10 minutes away from the Circus Wagon by car. In the store there is also a very good butcher + bakery. (Opening hours Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu and Sat 7:00 am - 8:00 pm) Bunk bed above the double bed The bunk bed (75 x 200) is suitable for a child or a mobile adult. For guests with young children, we are happy to install fall protection. Minimum stay: 2 nights. On holiday weekends: 3 nights
