Cozy Historic Guest House

Located in the heart of Old Ellicott City! This studio is warm, cozy and decorated with almost all vintage furnishings to pay tribute to the 1800s home. The space offers a well stocked bedroom, full bathroom and kitchenette. Relax on the patio or walk to the many cafes and shops on Main Street. Parking is included. The home is built into a hill so you will need to walk up a series of steps & stoned in the back from the parking area to enter. Due to this our home may not be ideal for everyone. The space Our studio apartment inside our 1800s home is cozy and intimate! You’ll enter into the kitchen which offers basic amenities including a refrigerator, coffee station and two-top burner. There a not an oven. The bedroom is the main attraction with a full bathroom attached. There is no living room but there is a tv. There is one dedicated parking spot that the back of the property and you will need to walk up a series of steps and stones built into the hill to enter the house. If you have a lot of luggage or have physical limitations, it may be difficult to navigate with the stairs. Please keep this in mind when deciding if we’re a good fit for you. The space is also not intended for small children. The home is split into 2 units so there may be guests staying above you. The house is built of stone which helps with the sound barrier, but please be aware that you may expect some noise similar to apartment living. It is also a basement space of a 200-year-old house so please expect some imperfections. Guest access This listing is for the basement apartment of our historic hillside cottage. The backyard is shared with the guests from the top unit. Our home is located in a natural setting where it’s common to see deer, fox, bunnies, etc. We make every effort to keep the house clean and uphold consistent pest control measures but due to these natural surroundings it’s also not uncommon to see outdoor insects indoor, especially during the warmer months. Discounts or refunds are not provided for insect or critter sightings inside the home or around the property. We encourage guests to notify us of any pest activity so we can take appropriate non-toxic steps to maintain comfort for everyone. Thank you for helping us preserve a safe and balanced ecosystem for both guests and nature. Small gatherings may be allowed on a case by case basis. Any unapproved parties with unapproved guests will be charged a $500 fine.
