Perfectly placed for exploring Suffolk's Heritage Coast, market towns and countryside, or simply relaxing and embracing the timeless pace of village life. The space A beautifully restored 17th-century cottage in the heart of historic Debenham – one of Suffolk’s premier villages, set near the source of the River Deben. Everything in this charming village is within walking distance, with free on-street parking. Right next door, you'll find Bruford’s Coffee Shop – perfect for breakfast or lunch – along with The Lion Pub, a traditional butcher, supermarket, greengrocer, and just a short stroll to The Woolpack Pub. The high street is also home to a variety of independent shops to explore. The Old Toll House has been lovingly restored to a high standard, retaining its historical charm with low beams, low level doors, diagonal walls, and a characterful steep staircase leading to the first floor. The cottage offers two bedrooms – one with a king-size bed, the other with a double. We do not have a cot or high chair for infants as we have very limited storage space. The bathroom is located upstairs. One well-behaved dog is welcome. We kindly ask that your dog stays out of the bedrooms and that you use the provided throws in the basket in the lounge if they are on the furniture. Please note: smoking, vaping, and candle use are not permitted anywhere in the cottage, due to its age. Guest access Inside, The Old Toll House offers a warm, inviting and characterful retreat where the charm of a 17th century cottage sits comfortably alongside modern comforts. Original beams, gently sloping ceilings and a quirky layout are all part of its unique heritage, creating a home full of character and authenticity. The cottage accommodates up to four guests in two thoughtfully furnished bedrooms. The principal bedroom features a comfortable king size bed, while the second offers a double bed, making it ideal for couples, friends or a small family. Guests have exclusive use of the entire cottage, providing a peaceful retreat in the heart of one of Suffolk's most picturesque villages. As you would expect from a property of this age, the staircase is traditional and quite steep, so guests with limited mobility or very young children should take this into consideration. Please note that the cottage does not have a private garden. One well behaved dog is welcome, and with beautiful countryside walks, footpaths and open spaces just a short stroll away, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors straight from the front door. Other things to note To help you settle in, we provide a selection of tea, coffee and fresh milk, so you can relax with a hot drink as soon as you arrive. During the cooler months, we also provide a complimentary supply of kiln dried logs, kindling and firelighters for the log burner, creating the perfect setting for a cosy evening in. Should you need additional logs during your stay, kiln dried logs are available from Abbots Hardware Store in Debenham, or you're welcome to bring your own. As our guests, you'll also receive **10% off food and drinks at Bruford's Coffee Shop** throughout your stay, making it the perfect place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, coffee or homemade cake while exploring the village.
