The space Villa Wellspacher is a historic Mansion built in the 1890s. It was the 49th house on Semmering, a prestigious weekend location for wealthy Viennese and aristocrats alike. Once operated by a Hungarian doctor as a health retreat which specialised in the clean water and fresh air on Semmering, Villa Wellspacher was well known as the Vecaj Villa for many years. A painting of this can be admired in the Alte Leopoldsapotheke in the 1st district of Vienna and the house has also been featured in a book titled "Semmering Architektur: Villenarchitektur am Semmering." by Guenther Buchinger. Recent reconstruction and restoration resulted in what today is known as Villa Wellspacher, named after the original owner and founder after which a neighbouring street on Semmering has also been named.
