This has been a real labour of love for them, as they have a wonderful appreciation of history and things beautiful. It was specially pleasing to Michael and Joan that all the craftsmen needed to carry our this momentous task were available locally. They have left no stone unturned to ensure that Lisheen Castle would be restored to its former glory, a residence fit for a Lord. During your Irish castle vacation you will enter the beautiful hallway, through the Great Oak Door,you will be immediately impressed by the opulance of the diningroom, reception rooms and library. At the end of the long corridor visitors will see a beautiful Ash Carved Stairs. Upstairs, there are currently 9 luxury bedrooms, 8 of which are en-suite. While the emphasis in Lisheen Castle is historical, the facilities are up to today's standard with wi-fi and pc/printer available for use by the guests. One of the two kitchens is fully fitted to the highest catering standard. Of interest to the guests will be the “old-style kitchen", which is furnished with pine furniture and terracotta floor. Even though the Castle is centrally heated throughout, you can still experience the special ambience of the “open turf fires" which are in all the reception rooms. Laundry facilities are available in the castle. Lisheen Castle is available for your Irish castle vacation on a weekly or monthly basis. The Castle accommodation currently has 9 luxury bedrooms, of which 8 are en-suite (6 double and 2 singles and 1 twin). The Master Suite has a wonderful four-poster bed. Guest access The castle is rented exclusively to a party who have access to all areas. Nobody else resides on the castle property. The castle is private and secluded in a rural area of green lush pasture 10 minutes drive from the local town of Thurles where there is everything you could want, 5 supermarkets, shops, restaurants, pubs, swimming pool, cinema, Horse riding and 18 hole golf course. The castle is located in the centre of Ireland making it ideal for day tripping. Set out on your day of exploration to the historic sites of Ireland and return to your castle to relaxe and re-cooperate ahead of the next day of adventure. Other things to note The castle is located out in the Irish countryside 10 mins from our local town which has 5 supermarkets, restaurants, swimming pool, cinema, great pubs, Irish music and really all you could want. The castles central location in Ireland is key to doing day trips allowing you to visit so many of the visitor attractions.
