It is situated in the historic centre of the seaside town, Casalbordino in Abruzzo along the Adriatic Coast. This spacious modern apartment is designed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. A 5-minute drive to the sandy beaches of Casalbordino Lido and close to an array of delicious local restaurants, it is a haven for those who are looking for an authentic Italian getaway. The space Casa Ausonia is a modern one-bedroom apartment, styled with mid-century inspired furnishings and local Abruzzese and Italian art. It boasts a queen bed, a private bathroom, fully equipped kitchen with Samsung and Alessi goods, a dining area, and a large living room complete with fast Wi-Fi, a digital TV, sound-system, pellet fire, guitar and a piano. Bed linens and bath towels are professionally laundered and beach towels are provided for each guest. The apartment is professionally cleaned in advance of all stays at no additional fee. The apartment is part of the Palazzo Magnarapa built between 1848 and 1860. The Town Casalbordino is a lively town with several bars, two local supermarkets (Conad – 5-minute walk; Todis – 2-minute walk), a fishmonger, a florist, a butchers, a post-office, a spa (offering beauty treatments and massage), tabaccherias, and popular restaurants nearby. It has a Sunday market and many street festivals during the summer months. The apartment is a part of the Palazzo Magnarapa which is home to the Nuova Academia Italian language school and offers Italian language and culture courses ranging from one week to one month between April and September every year. Close to Casalbordino This area of Abruzzo is wonderful year-round. The apartment is a 5-minute drive from the beaches of Casalbordino Lido, 10-minute drive from the exquisite Punta Aderci nature reserve, and around 45 minutes from the ski resorts in Maiella. Surrounded by many small and authentic Italian villages, it is very popular with cyclists and walkers. Local businesses offer excellent guided tours and activities, ranging from kayaking and e-bike rentals to enjoy the beautiful coastline to foraging for seasonal produce including asparagus and truffles. The local town of Vasto (15-minute drive) has an excellent array of restaurants, shops, natural wine bars, antique and second-hand boutiques, as well as a weekly flea market on a Saturday selling linens, kitchenware, and second-hand clothing and books. As well as seaside restaurants, there are many countryside osterias that serve delicious local menus of both meat and fish. Gluten-free options are also largely catered to in most local venues. Many celebrated varieties of Trebbiano di Abruzzo and Montepulciano di Abruzzo wines and bright green extra-virgin olive oil are locally produced in Casabordino and the surrounding areas. A 40-minute drive south to Termoli in the next region Molise, you can take the 50 minute hydrofoil ferry to the stunning Tremiti Islands and hire a boat for a swimming day trip amongst crystal clear waters. Guest access Access to the property is via a private gate and the apartment is situated on the 2nd floor of the building via a stairway. There is no lift and therefore it should be considered unsuitable for people with special mobility access requirements. It is possible to reach the apartment with local transport. Casalbordino station connects to all major Italian cities via Pescara (including Rome, Milan, Venice, Bologna and Bari in Puglia) and there is a frequent bus service to the town. There is also a daily bus schedule to and from the beach. We recommend hiring a car to enjoy the local area on your own schedule.
