Located in pristine Cousins Cove, a beautiful quiet fishing village away from the tourist traps. You can spend your days snorkelling, swimming, fishing, lazing in a hammock, chillin out in the "Cool Pool" (plunge pool) sipping a rum or two playing dominoes yet all within 20 minutes by car of Negril's 7 mile beach The space Reef Cottage offers the perfect secluded get away and possibly the best snorkelling in Jamaica. In the glistening crystal clear waters you will often see giant rays basking on the seabed, a rainbow of colourful fish as well as beautiful corals all protected by the reef. Highlights - The Cottage itself is simply finished in rustic style but with modern amenities and appliances. It can accommodate up to 4 guests comfortably in the two bedrooms but please note that the division between the bedrooms is open at roof level. - One bathroom with shower overlooking the Caribbean - Unique "Cool Pool" (plunge pool) overlooking the rocks and the sea where you can cool off during the day. - Double hammock located in the shade of the trees overlooking the Caribbean, a perfect spot to relax. - Single hammock on wooden verandah deck Welcome basket - just a few things to make your stay comfortable such as tea, coffee, milk, sugar, two cool Red Stripe Beers. -Cotton bed linen and under everything, the mattress and pillows are fully encased in protective covers. -Your towels are also washed, even if they were not used by the previous guest as we want everything you use to be fresh. -Your toilet, shower and sink are cleaned and sanitized. -Britta Drinking Water Filter Jug -Your ice tray is removed, emptied and washed before being returned to the freezer to make fresh ice for you. Would also recommend you purchase a bag of ice, or we can arrange for this to be delivered in advance for you. -While we cannot re-wash every, pot, pan, plate, cup, bowl and piece of silverware between each guest, we do wash what has been left out… -We take great care and pride in the cleanliness of our cottage because we want you to feel as if you were our first guests! However, please remember this is a wooden structure by the sea and not a polished Manhattan loft! At night sit out on the rocks and watch the sunset, no noise except the waves crashing against the rocks below. In addition, from the verandah you will see the fruit bats come out and drink for the "Cool Pool" and you can gaze up at the stars (no light pollution here). Check out the local fisherman and pick up his fresh catch including Lobster and crab during season or visit Byron's Bar situated across from the waters edge. I have co-hosted Reef Cottage with my wife for many years and have now taken over as main host due to my wife concentrating on some of our other properties and we have split the load to even out ensure we can both focus on great customer service for each property. The cottage is right on the sea, it’s in a peaceful location but very close to the top spots in Negril, the cottage itself is beautiful and v loved and the hosts were great, made us feel v welcome and gave lots of great recommendations. From the very start Nige was very responsive to any requests or queries. He arranged for us to be collected from the airport by Morris who has to be the most loveliest man you could wish to meet. He lives in the property next door and was on hand for anything we needed . The accommodation was fantastic.......... Sandy's Review: 5th January to 8th January 2025. We enjoyed our stay at this rustic home with all amenities. This is a beautiful rural house and it makes us feel like we live typically like the Jamaican. The communication with the hosts ( Morris and Nige ) was perfect. Plus many, many more reviews. Guest access Reef Cottage is self contained with a private entrance and secure parking. Check-in time is flexible, although we would request you let us know in advance so that we can arrange to meet you with the keys. Also it is recommended that you arrive in daylight hours on the first day so that you can familiarize yourselves with the area. Other things to note Although WiFi is provided for guests to use, we are in a semi remote location so the WiFi service may temporarily fluctuate from time to time, which unfortunately is out of our control. There may be small outages of utilities from time to time, this is real Island Living. There is no AC at the cabin but we do have standing fans and beautiful sea breezes. We do recommend that guests may wish to purchase groceries in Montego Bay enroute to the cottage, as the local shops only sell very basic supplies.
