The Log House is a gorgeous privately owned 5,250 sq. ft. log home in Truckee, CA constructed in 2005. The house is located in the Tahoe Donner Association at one of the highest home sites available ... 7,250 ft. near the Glacier Point trail portal within walking distance from the Tahoe Donner Downhill Ski Area. The house has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, plus a loft with a very comfortable hide-a-bed which can be easily used as a 5th bedroom. But what makes this property spectacular is the views! The space The Log House itself is loaded with amenities and must be seen to be believed. The house is accented with beautiful granite, slate, and tile work, two log staircases, and an amazing salvaged wood floor made of 2.5" thick, 27" wide and 30' planks cut from century old timbers recovered from a canal in Canada. The Great Room has 25 ft. floor-to-ceiling windows and gas fireplace to compliment the immaculate views. The kitchen is fully loaded with stainless steel appliances -- refrigerator, 48 inch range with 2 ovens, built-in microwave, dishwasher and coffee/cappuccino machine. The bar & rec room area has its own refrigerator and dishwasher, another massive fireplace, wine cellar, steam shower, and dry sauna in addition to a highly functional work out area with Olympic weights and a stair master. A multi-room sound system enables music to be streamed throughout the house and a new theater system with 85" Sony Smart TV will keep you entertained. There is full wired and wireless Starlink internet access throughout the house. RECENT UPDATE - April 2025! New 8-person hot tub on the back deck! The top rear deck has beautiful stainless steel barbeque, fire pit, two propane heaters, ample seating and a specially designed area for the 10-person jacuzzi that is sitting over 30 ft. above the ground and perfect for enjoying the massive views or the night stars. The sleeping arrangements are as follows: * Master Bedroom (king) * Guest Bedroom I (king) * Guest Bedroom II (queen) * Guest Bedroom III (king) * Loft (couch / hide-a-bed - unusually comfortable) The Master Bedroom has its own gas fireplace and opens up to the top deck only footsteps from the jacuzzi. Both guest bedrooms open up onto the lower deck area so that all guests enjoy the same massive views from the comfort of their sleeping quarters. This home is not only defined by the massive 24 inch plus logs but the incredible 180 degree views of Mt. Rose, the Truckee Meadow, Northstar Ski resort, the Pacific Crest, and Donner Pass from its two rear deck areas. Guest access We only rent the whole house ... you are going to want every bit of it to yourself! We only have a couple utility areas and my wine cellar locked off ... the rest is yours!
