Built in 1928 and fully updated in 2025, The Pear Tree sits in Grandville, perfectly placed between the amenities of city life and the natural beauty of West Michigan. Within a short drive, you can explore Frederik Meijer Gardens, Grand Rapids Public Museum, and Rivertown Crossings Mall. For fresh, local finds, the Grand Rapids Downtown Market is open nearly every day of the year, and the beloved Fulton Street Farmers Market runs year-round as well. A family day trip to Grand Haven's beaches and boardwalk on Lake Michigan is just 40 minutes away. The heart of The Pear Tree is its open-concept living and dining area—a rare find in the area—where the whole group naturally comes together. The large dining table gives everyone room to eat, laugh, and reconnect, with comfortable seating for all eight guests. The fully equipped kitchen is ready for everything from holiday feasts to slow Sunday breakfasts. The well-appointed bedrooms are fitted with light-filtering curtains, and east-facing windows feature blackout shades so late sleepers can rest on their own schedule. This dog-friendly home features a fully fenced half-acre yard where your pups can run, and run, and run. Outside, gather around the fire pit in the Adirondack chairs or fire up the propane BBQ for an evening cookout. The Pear Tree offers keyless entry and ample driveway parking. Please note that the home is located adjacent to I-196 and a four-way signal, so road noise may be noticeable during the day, though most guests find it fades into the background once you're settled inside. >> THE NEIGHBORHOOD << The Pear Tree sits in a convenient, well-connected corner of Grandville with everyday essentials just moments away, like a Meijer grocery store, Walmart, and several dining options are all within a mile, making it easy to stock up on arrival or grab something quickly without going far. For those wanting to stretch their legs, Georgetown Trails along the Grand River is an easy short drive away and welcomes dogs. And keep an eye on the backyard: the property's namesake pear tree produces fruit in late summer and early fall, a small but genuine piece of West Michigan right in the backyard. >> THE HOME << The Pear Tree is a spacious two-story home with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and all the amenities your group needs to settle in comfortably. PLEASE NOTE The Pear Tree is a charming older home with character, and with that comes steep, narrow stairs leading to the second floor and down to the basement. The second floor sleeping areas are not recommended for guests with mobility or balance concerns, including young children. There are also three steps to enter the home from outside. Please keep the stair situation in mind when booking your stay with us. >> AGE REQUIREMENT << The user with the Airbnb account booking The Pear Tree must be 25 or older. >> IDENTITY << We reserve the right to ask for your ID at any time during your stay to verify that the guest identity matches the Airbnb profile. >> NO GUESTS OR EVENTS << We do not allow you to host gatherings or events in our residence. No additional guests allowed. Only the guest(s) on the Airbnb reservation are allowed at our property. No exceptions. Violation of house rules (including parties, noise complaints, or unauthorized guests) may result in immediate termination of the stay without refund at host discretion and subject to Airbnb policies. >> ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE TIMES << Check-in is at 4 pm, and check-out is by 11 am. When leaving the unit, please close and lock the windows, the front door, the main entrance door, and close the gate. >> PARKING << Guests are required to disclose the total number of vehicles before arrival. Commercial vehicles are strictly prohibited unless prior authorization has been granted. Ample parking is available in the horseshoe shaped driveway. >> NO SMOKING POLICY << For the comfort of all guests, smoking/vaping or e-cigarettes is strictly prohibited inside the house or within 30 ft of the premises. Any evidence of smoking will incur an additional violation fee of $1000 to deep clean the property. Smoking is allowed on the cement patio behind the garage. >> PETS—DOGS ONLY << We happily welcome up to two well-behaved dogs. They’ll love the half-acre fenced yard and cozy dog bed waiting for them inside. We ask that puppies stay home until fully house trained and vaccinated. Unfortunately we are unable to allow cats due to allergies. A dog bed, bowls, and poo scooper are available for their comfort. Please be respectful and pick up after your pets. We have a fully fenced yard on 1/2 of an acre. Ensure the gate is closed completely for the safety of your dogs. >> VENDORS ON SITE << We have folks that help us maintain the property. If your stay falls on certain days of the week, you may see these service providers: - Dog pooper scoopers on Monday - Landscapers on Tuesday - Trash/recycling runner on Tuesday (bins out) and Wednesday (bins in) >> QUIET HOURS FROM 10 PM-8AM << Please respect the neighbors and maintain a noise-conscious atmosphere after 10 pm, especially outside. We appreciate your care! >> INTERNET ROUTER MUST STAY PLUGGED IN << For guest safety and property security, the internet router must stay plugged in at all times, barring a service interruption where the router needs to be reset. If we determine with our internet service provider that a guest has unplugged the router, penalties will apply, which may include a fee and/or the immediate termination of your reservation without refund. >> NATURE IS ALL AROUND << Nature brings some not-so-welcome visitors, such as spiders and other insects. Please keep in mind that they may still make their way inside the house. We do the best we can by hiring pest control and taking all preventative measures regarding cleanliness and landscaping. Other things to note Due to its proximity to the intersection and freeway, guests at our Pear Tree property will hear some road noise, but the cozy home and features more than make up for it. Guests with mobility challenges are recommended to sleep on the first floor to avoid the steep stairs. Guests are able to stream their favorite show and movie under their own account with the Roku TV. It will automatically close your account info when you check out.
