David’s Holiday Haven Sleeps 8, Lots of parking

Our spacious cottage with accessibility features sleeps up to eight people, is the perfect place for rest and recreation. Situated in the Village of Dunnottar (which includes Ponemah, Matlock & Whytewold), this completely restored home is just a five-minute walk from Lake Winnipeg and famous Dunnottar Piers. Explore the local shops of Gimli, Winnipeg Beach and Matlock, just a short drive away. Or enjoy outdoor activities from fishing and boating to hiking and biking through nearby trails. The space Our cottage is one of the most unique cottages in the Whytewold/Matlock area! We invite you to come see for yourself what a beautiful building it is and all we have to offer. In searching for a building to restore, we wanted to have something that reflects our values of taking something that is old and making it new again. David and his friend rebuilt the cabin, which used to be the old Kid’s Clubhouse in Oak Hammock Marsh. In fact, a lot of the things in the cabin are either refurbished/refinished or made by hand by David himself. We strove to make the cabin as accessible as possible by including step free access, a wheelchair ramp to enter the building and adding grab bars in the washrooms. The floors are carefully crafted from old barn wood, two armoires are hand made by David, the nightstands and much more were hand made. A three year labour of love that was hand built from top to bottom. 1,300 square feet in total. Our cabin offers a beautiful break from the city but still has all the modern amenities that you need. Dishwasher, fridge, microwave, stove/oven. Along with a washer and dryer, electric fireplace, 65 inch flatscreen tv, gas heat, air conditioning. The renovations included building an insulated crawlspace (ICF) and insulating the walls and roof with spray foam so that it is warm and cosy in winter, and remains cool in the summer for a four season comfortable experience. There are three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The master bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with a gorgeous restored clawfoot tub where you can soak all your worries away. The master bedroom has more floor space which aids in accessibility with a wheelchair, one comfortable queen sized bed with a deck off the bedroom. The second bedroom has a queen sized bed. The third bedroom has another loft queen sized bed and a twin sized bed. There is also a Sofa Futon in the living room which converts to a double bed for sleeping. 2 minutes drive to Tugela Creek Ice Fishing Access, 9 minutes to Warner Road Access. The smart TV has many apps already installed and also includes DAZN which has subscription to NFL Gamepass and many other sports from around the world. There is also a generator connection at the meter and a generator that can be provided in case of power outages during the winter months. Guest access Full access to the cabin. The garage/workshop, shed and tractor are not part of the Airbnb. The garage/workshop may be used occasionally by David the owner for furniture manufacture between the hours of 10am and 4pm. Other things to note No filleting of fish in the cabin. If this occurs a cleaning fee will be applied. Garbage should be placed in the provided metal garbage cans and lids secured with the supplied bungee cords. This is a country area and critters such as raccoons will try and get into the cans. Guests are responsible for cleaning up if animals scatter garbage during their stay. The only pets/animals allowed are dogs.
